I've been pretty fortunate in getting to see nearly every song live I've wanted to see. Red Mosquito, though, I've yet to see and kind of baffles me as one they don't play much. It just seems like a song that really exemplifies their range as a band. Of course, I've also never seen black, which seems an anomaly among people that have seen them at least 5 times.
2000 - 8/21 - Columbus, OH 2003 - 6/18 - Chicago, IL 2006 - 5/22 - Auburn Hills, MI 2007 - 8/5 - Chicago, IL 2015 - 9/26 - New York, NY 2016 - 4/16 - Greenville, SC; 8/20 - Chicago, IL; 8/22 - Chicago, IL 2018 - 8/18 - Chicago, IL; 8/20 - Chicago, IL
Why Go was not played much for over 10 years but came back hard in 2006.
World Wide Sucicide I thought would survive and be a staple after the Avocado tours. But it seems to have vanished. Great song. The first single of the record. Works great live.
The Fixer too. Played alot during the Backspacer tour, being somewhat of a radio hit(?) but now pretty much gone.
Fixer isnt gone...just kicked out from Ghost in Jacksonville...;)
I'm not talking about being completely "gone". i'm talking about not being staples anymore, even though for whatever reason they "should" be. The Fixer was a hit single, the band seemed to enjoy playing it etc but it fell off from the the face of the earth in 2013 (or whenever it was).
Get Right might have been played during the Riot Act tour. But it's not surprising it went away from being a staple -- if it even was a staple during the 03 tour(?) - on later tours. (Even though it dissapearing completely might be surprising.

Alive, Evenflow, Porch, RVM, Small Town, Corduroy, BetterMan, DTE are what comes to my mind.
Well then the answer to the original poster's question is moot. None of these have ever fallen out of the rotation for very long.
No, the point of the original post is to point out songs that used to receive the same kind of frequent rotation in the setlists but that have since vanished from the setlists or become much less frequent on them. With this in mind, answers such as "The Fixer" "World Wide Suicide" and "Insignificance" make a lot of since because when the albums these songs came off of came out and the band toured for the albums these songs were on the setlist almost every single night. As far as just songs (not necessarily "staples") I want them to play more often, I would say-
In My Tree, Present Tense, Red Mosquito, Tremor Christ, Immortality, Breakerfall, Ghost, Get Right, All or None, Inside Job, Fatal, Sad, and I Got I.D.

Insignificance. Played 170x prior to this tour, most of any post Yield song except Save You. But only 1x this tour. It's also shocking they have not played WWS on this tour.
Yes, Insignificance. Well, it was never a staple, but still, it really fell off, and who knows why, because it is killer live.

I would say it was a live staple during the Binaural tour because they played it a lot and had the lights designed to go with that particular song and jam section. I really think it works well as a closer of a set like RVM or Porch. Whether it was or was not a "staple" is irrelevant, what is relevant is that it is a great live song that deserves to be played more often.

Explain the lights thing? Interesting!
They had the green lasers for Severed Hand in 2006 too. Didn't Stone say in an interview that they were too expansive.

I understand the general audience likes it but man it is not nearly as good as the other staples they play every night. If I'm in a spot where it is easy to come and go from at a show, I'm out getting a drink as soon as I see the 12 string come out.
Yeah..... I did that at Fenway 2. Then missed Tom Hamilton playing bass for Draw the Line.
I'm regretting that decision.
I did it in Lexington and missed Education. See if they stopped playing it these kinds of thing would not happen.
I also think present tense should be a live staple. That song is one of their best!
PT is perfect in the number 2 spot like it was in Rio. I'm not a big fan of the prolonged slow start to shows, so this song is a happy medium where it starts out slow and then picks up and leads in well to the next fast song.

It all depends on whether you dislike Sirens more than you like Tom Hamilton on the Draw the Line.

They used a lot of strobe light effects and the lights synched up a lot with the song, which for back in 2000 was pretty cool for PJ.

I agree with the vs tunes mentioned- glorified and dissident. There pj songs were/are huge and are really rare these days and not sure why. They deserve to be played more, maybe not as rotational as gtf, alive, dte, even, porch etc, but a notch below
Also surprised getaway, as its the opener on lb, never really had a chance to be in there.
Agree with this. Saw 16 shows on the 2000 tour and the songs were great live. Grievance, Insignificance, Breakerfall I thought would be staples beyond this tour.
I only saw 2 then, but I agree.

i wish nothing as it seems would get played more. I've been lucky to hear it on the Binaural tour, but they should play it more. Same with severed hand.

If they take it off of their regular rotation, it will make it more special.
