Ever booked a hotel before...

Getting tickets to a show? I know some of you must have... does anyone have stories about whether they failed in getting tickets or got them last minute?

Just book one you can cancel until the day of or before the show. I did it for wrigley in 2013 and lucked out landing a ticket on the boards the day before the show

  • Did that for ToTD in Seattle. Never actually did that for a show before but after Fenway I couldn't resist

I booked a hotel for the Moline show as soon as they announced the date...had to jump on the hotel that was right next to the arena. Ended up getting lucky and getting 10c tix for that one. And then they played No Code....awesome night.
  • Yep. I'm about to do that. Even if I can't get a ticket I can't eat the flight cost so might as well visit Chicago! ;)

Yes, several times to save on rates. Just make sure you book with no money down and full money back cancellation.

Always. I never book non-refundable hotels so it's not really a big decision.

Of course, can always cancel if you don't get tickets.

I've done the no refund/pay up front thing a few times and haven't gotten burned yet. It saved me a few hundred when i stayed 4 nights in Manhattan for the 2 MSG shows.

We booked Hotel, and Flight before we had tickets for these Wrigley shows. We just made up our mind that we would get in the door no matter what. Glad it didn't come down to no matter what!!!

Yeah. That's worth it for somewhere like NYC where you can pay in full on hotwire.com or a site like that and pay $100 per night instead of $300 per night. I did that as well for the MSG shows earlier this year.
