Hi,

I was at the Fenway show on Sunday and unfortunately my flight didn't land until Saturday afternoon, by which time the Steve Thomas poster ("The Catch") was gone. Now, I know a lot of people bought it and are keeping it, and others bought multiple for other 10C members. But the people that bought it for the sole purpose of posting it on ebay (or similar sites) - that's a real dickhead move. I was very disappointed about missing out on this poster. Now, I still did get a poster (the Mark 5 "Queen" poster), but not my first choice. I really wish people had some class and didn't crash the party for others just so they can make a buck.

    An understandable gripe--but a situation that will, unfortunately, never end. I knew it would be near impossible to get a Thomas print when I got into Boston on Sunday, so I asked a good friend to pick one up for me on Friday.

    I over heard an older gentleman that works for Fenway tell his co worker that a guy just spent 2K on merch and would probably make 10K on it.
    I know... Funny huh.
    Wonder how manny poster he had?

    The biggest problem with the current system (selling merch outside the venue and on days when there are no shows) is that anyone can walk up and purchase items. It's a scalper's delight! They don't even need a ticket to get in the venue where merch used to be exclusively sold. They can walk up and purchase what they want and sell it an hour later on eBay. In the past, it used to be 1 poster per person.

    I was curious why 10C never sells the show merch online after gigs (apart from posters) and was informed Jeff didn't like the idea of being able to buy show stuff if you didn't attend the show. I wonder how he feels about the recent methods, since you don't have to have a ticket or attend the show to get show merch.

    What we need is a system where 10c members can be almost guaranteed tickets they want and the ability to order Merch with said tickets. I can dream right?

    I highly doubt it is on the band's radar, let alone their management's.

    What about 10C members who get shut out of the lottery for tickets and have to buy then from TM or the secondary market? It would have to be a presale open to all 10C members, or people would be screaming 10C is discriminating.

    The merch has been outside for quite awhile now. I got my donkey kong at the outside merch stand.

    What I don't understand is , I was in the gates at Fenway at 5 pm on Friday and went to every merch stand available. Only 1 merch stand had the Steve Thomas posters hanging in the stand. It sold out 4 people ahead of me. WTF. I'm not against selling merch outside, but at least have merch available inside to people who are actual ticket purchasers that are in the venue.

    I stood in line an hour and a half on Friday and was lucky enough to get a Thomas poster, t shirts, patch etc. Total came to a couple hundred bucks and the guy behind the counter told me I did pretty good. I asked him what the biggest sale was and he told me $6500, first guy in line on Tuesday. I asked if he saw the guy again, he said the guy was first in line on Thursday again. Apparently he bought the maximum of everything.
