Anyone use any old razors? Anyone have any they are wanting to get rid of?

I get a straight edge razor shave when I get my hair cut. In between I use what appears to be a mach 48.

Single Edge? Geez, I'm only using a double edge....

I'm not sure what you mean, but yes, my barber uses a straight edge razor. I would never use it.

  • I personally use a single blade straight razor. I was told by my barber to not use it as a personal razor because its can be dangerous if you dont know what you're doing. Honestly, if you are cautious, after the first couple of times you start to get the hang of it. it is hands down the best shave a man can get. Plus, nothing is more awesome than shaving with a single knife like blade.

The new trend is to not shave it at all.....

That's what "vintage shaving" really looks like!

Manscaping is a misunderstood term. It's just keeping your shit out of the Unibomber facial hair world.

i would oneday enjoy myself a straight razor shave by a barber ... if i could locate one that still does that kind of thing anyway. i do not remember when i did not wear this beard. often i want to chop it completely off but never follow through.

boker damascus stainless straight razor - $812.95

this site knifecenter.com kicks ass. i always wanted a shave brush, shaving soap & mug. really neat stuff.
grooming scissors... these ears, eyebrows & nose of mine are getting carried away just a bit these days. unreal how my eyebrows are housing the old man big thick crazy loner hairs these days.

I read something totally different in the title...
The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.

In the documentary "Riding the Rails" (which is about these young people, many of them, during the Great Depression who went all over the country hopping trains- really good movie!) there is one scene that talks about how in some of the hobo camps the regulars kept a mirror hung on a tree with a blade-less razor. The rail hoppers passing through would keep their own razor blade in their wallet to put in the razor itself while they were staying in that particular camp. I thought that was cool.
