I dont know if it was the band, the venue, or the way they had things tuned, but DAMN. Last night was my 29th show, and the sound was just great, definitely the best sounding PJ show I have been to. I usually don't notice things like the sound, but the band sounded 10 years younger and the setlist flowed perfectly. Keep doing whatever you guys did to prepare for last night!

Agreed. The sound was perfect. The weather was perfect. The venue was perfect. Awesome night.

Agreed. I turned to my friend at one point and commented that it sounded better than an arena even though we were in a baseball park. Pretty crazy!

I listened via Periscope and was amazed at how good things sounded. Can only imagine how sharp it must have been in the park.
everybody wants the most they can possibly get
for the least they could possibly do
  • 100% agree. Was there for both nights and could not get over the sound quality. Best I've heard. Have seen them 15 times and have not seen them enjoy themselves or play and sound as good as they did both nights....and Mike's solos....good lawd!
  • I sat in the same area both nights and the sound on night 2 seemed way better to me

I said the same thing after night 1. Even started a post about it
Hats off to the Fenway sound crew
I sat same place on the field for both nights and thought the sound was the same (Excellent)
Just the crowd for night 2 was over the top.

The sound and energy from the band was completely different on night 2. I sat in the same area and night one was good, but night two destroyed!
1991- Hollywood Palladium, California with Temple of the Dog, Soundgarden, and Alice in Chains -RIP Magazine Show Oct. 6th
    1992- Lollapalooza, Irvine, California
    Nothing since then. I suck.
2016- Fenway Park, Boston - Both glorious nights
    2022- Oakland Night 2
    2024 Sacramento, CA

It's amazing how where you sit can change this.
Night 1 I was in section 32. Sounded great.
Night 2 I was in 96. Starting with Immortality the sound was awful. There was this crazy loud feedback. If you listen to the YouTube Dimi posted you can slightly hear it. Just imagine that completely overrunning everything.

My only complaint from Friday night is McCready's volume could have been turned up at times, otherwise it sounded good from my seat in B1.

Sunday night, I was in B6 and the sound was perfect.

I saw a few shows at Fenway years ago and thought it sounded terrible and for that reason I have always been on the fence about the band playing the venue. Last night the sound was perfect. I don't know if it was the band or the venue figuring it out over the years, but kudos to everyone involved. Just an amazing show last night!

I was in B5 Friday and then B2 on Sunday - I also thought the sound was terrific - very big and loud - but clear. Friends of mine were in the grandstand on the first base line where the the seats above overhang their section and they said the sound was less than ideal as it got trapped behind them. What an amazing couple of shows. Be well everyone

I was expecting a tin can sound and breezes etc. but this was one of the best sounding venues I've heard. Unreal since it was supposed to be bad. I was in A and B. Expecting much worse sounds in the grandstand.

It starts at 38 seconds. It overtook everything it was so loud and it probably was like that for about 1/2 the remaining songs.

I was in section 97 and had no sound issues... Not sure what was different in 96. Show sounded amazing.

I was right under the overhang so maybe that had to do with it.
