Vic or Lolla?

I have been thinking about this for the last couple of days. For the lucky fans that attended both Lollapalooza and the Vic which one did you prefer. I'm not only talking about the music but also the full experience. I was only able to attend Lolla so I'm just kind of curious.

    you even have to ask?

the VIC hands down- not just because they finally played H2I while I was there, but the whole set...never again will they bless us with so many gems.

Lolla was very average for me, shitty day, crowd was fucks(I am from the area and I am dissappointed in the amount of fucks -not fucking, but there were a lot of assbags that day) My guess is they were all visitors, Chitown doesn't roll that way...myabe they were from Boston ;-). Hotter than shit, sound was fucked up.

Vic by a mile- everyone there being a diehard made it even better as we all were so absorbed in the whole experience together.
  • Vic may have been more of a "hardcore" type of shot.....but there's nothing like PJ kicking 100,000 people in the ass....nothing.

that pretty much summed it up for me too.

the vic was up close, personal, intimate... lolla was huge, a spectacle, with a great view of the city as a backdrop. it was a nice contrast to see how big the band has gotten, which made lolla so great, but the Vic show felt like a thoughtful gift for longtime fans.

Same for me. BUT, the juxtaposition of the small, intimate rarity-filled club show with the giant crowd, greatest hits set, kick ass show three days later was perfect.

i don't think you can compare the 2 shows!
both special in their own way
    2003 - Sydney x3,
    2006 - Reading Festival,
2007 - Katowice, London, Nijmegen, Rock Werchter,
    2008 - MSG x2, Hartford, Mansfield x2, Beacon Theater,
    2009 - Melbourne, Sydney,
2010 - I watched it go to fire!
    2011 - EV Brisbane x3, Newcastle, Sydney x3,
    2012 - Manchester x 2, Amsterdam x2, Prague, Berlin x2, Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen,
    2014 - Sydney, EV Sydney x3

I wave to all my Friends... Yeah!

i agree with that observation as well..
and the fact that they were both special and could not be compared.
(it would be nice if i had an original thought, though ;) )

  • Maybe another way of asking the question is: for those who were lucky enough to attend both, if you had to go back in time and were only allowed to attend ONE, which one would you choose?

That way, even if they're hard to compare, you have to choose one to experience, which says which you valued more if you had to pick.....

    So which would it be?

    Have to agree with this.

Having never seen PJ in a festival setting, Lolla was a unique experience. But the setlist and the total surprise of the Vic is what will always make it unique.
