It's 3:00 Saturday and everything is off the field at Fenway.
Seems like a lot of extra work.

    Just 48-72 hours of covering grass will make it brown for 10-14 days. This week's concert series will be set up for a week. Red Sox ground crew gets paid big bucks, every day they literally have to clear it for watering or the Sox would be playing on brown grass for a few weeks! Where the stage sits will be evident for a couple weeks, I'd imagine.

    Maybe they did it because it was supposed to thunderstorm today around noon? Not sure.

    Nah. They left it down overnight when the Stones played about 10 years ago and had to replace the whole outfield because of how bad the turf was. They'll put it back down tomorrow. I actually talked to one of the groundskeepers before the show. Pretty interesting stuff.

    They sure do - it's a thankless job. Gets HOT out there taking care of that turf all day in the summer.

    Grounds crew are phenomenal! From what I saw of the infield and outfield parts that were uncovered looked immaculate.
