What's the cheapest way to see PJ at MSG if coming from out of town?

Ok, maybe I'm jumping the gun a little bit here, but hopefully tomorrow this post will hold up. But say PJ does play there, assuming they will at least this upcoming tour or next, what is the cheapest way to stay in New York? Should I get a hotel near MSG? Or get a cheaper hotel outside the city and take a cab in? What's less after factoring in cabs and all that? I don't know if I would fly or drive yet either. What has worked for you guys?

  • not sure what your budget is but you could stay in jersey city and take the path train over. the 33rd street stop is one block away and there are a few hotels near path train stops especially in the newport-pavonia area.

look up the trains that go in and out of penn station. its right under MSG! you can probably get some crappy hotel somewhere in NJ or something and get a 2-way $10 train ticket!

Yeah, there are tons of towns in Jersey that have trains that go straight into the Garden, you can get a 2way ticket for around 10-15 bucks depending on where you get on. Probably your best bet.
