I can't understand this. Metallica is getting 2 and 1/2 hours while PJ only gets 2? I didn't think Metallica played shows that we're that long. And PJ is supposed to be the headliner afterall. Personally I think PJ will play longer, but I can't understand why they're only slotted for 2 hours. Anyone been to Bonnaroo before and seen bands play longer than their scheduled times?

they will probably play longer.. have you ever been to a music festival? usually with the bigger acts things are a little bit more loose. But yes, I agree metallica should not get that much time..

MMJ is gonna steal the show with that 3 hr late night slot
  • I think you guys are looking at this the wrong way. They probably got exactly what they requested. Did you really think that PJ would want to play an epic 3 hour show in front of a festival crowd?

I guarantee you that if they wanted more time they would have gotten it.

Sorry, I just saw the other post. How do you delete your own thread?

    I was at Lolla.
They were slotted at 8:00 to 10:00.
They played 8:10 to 9:50 ish if i remember correctly.
I thought they would play longer at the time too, but they didn't.
Roo might be different, but I don't think so.

You don't. They played til around 10:15 to 10:20.

As I said in the other thread on this same subject, they'll be free to play as long as they want. Don't expect a 3+ hr epic, but 2:30 is a reasonable guess for how long they'll play. In other words, expect what you'd expect at a normal PJ show.

They also weren't slotted at Lolla. There was no end time listed on the schedule for that one. I also recall the show ending around 10:15 as stated above.

Since they're the last band playing the What Stage on Sat then I'm sure they can do whatever the fuck they want. BUT - if they choose to only play two hours it will be disappointing. Still two of the best hours of my life, I'm sure...PJ shows always are.

Yeah - that no end time was so promising.. and then so unbelievable deflating when they couldn't even play as long as their warm-up shows go!

I went into Lolla expecting them to play a short set and play a hitlist set. But Lolla was actually probly the most fun I've ever had at a PJ set. Looking back and seeing 80,000 people groove to PJ and seeing the Chicago skyline all around you was incredible. But the fact they'd played more hits got the non pj fans into it and made a great experience. Bonnaroo will be a great time, and I can't wait to see who they jam with.
