For those who have been to MSG...

I cannot wait for the shows at MSG. Been wanting to go to this arena forever, and now I finally will and will see my favorite band. Anyone know how the view is from the loge areas (95, 96, 97 in particular)? I need to buy tix for 6/25 and are looking at that or the sections in 131,132, or 129 . Also how is the sound? And one more thing, I expect these to be the loudest PJ shows ever, 10,000 10c members in '03, who knows how many now. And does the floor shake also? Or is it just the stage?

yah exactly, keep in mind that any fan club member who didn't score tix through the 10c have probably gotten them through other means... so fan club members will be there w/ out fan club tix, me for night 1 is a perfect example.

Don't sweat where your seats are at MSG -- that place has magic when it mixes with the best bands. When I got my seats for Zeppelin back in, oh, is that really important, the box office had stamped LIMITED VISIBLIITY on them in black ink, the letters as high as the size of the ticket! Last damn thing I wanted to see, I'm sure you could guess! It was one of the defining moments of my life, I had to hang out into the aisle and use binos to get a good look at Bonzo, but I just did what I had to do!

You get an additonal charge from sitting close, no doubt, but a lot of the palaver about where the seats are is just cubicle dweller/dorm room one-upmanship. I used to say I didn't give a shit if the seats were in the john (Jet Blue owes me an intellectual property fee, doncha think?) and it's true. Just get IN THE BUILDING, and when the boys rev their engines, TAKE OFF!! You will be going on one hell of a ride that you won't forget for the rest of your life.

You should wipe that gob off of your chin. It is no better a venue than any other, you should know that too, having also been to 20 something shows...

It has nothing to do with the building. It's the history of the place. You're talking about a stage that brought us The Song Remains the Same, Gimme Shelter and countless other legendary shows.

Bands get up for MSG shows because they know and respect where they are. Most PJ fans I know feel like they do as well, even though that wasn't your impression. Beyond just the Garden, I've found that NYC brings out the best in bands. It's one of the epicenters of the music world.

The other thing that makes MSG special is that many bands invite guests on stage that you wouldn't see in most other cities.

The Garden has a feel that is so different from any other arena. It just oozes history and yes, it does shake when it really gets going. If you have seats in some 300 and 400 sections you MIGHT have an obstructed view, but nothing to be to discouraged about. Bottom line, expect these two shows to be the best of the tour.

I sat next to the Olsen twins at the Cunti Arena in 0-6, Sat outside of Tower for 23 hours on the fucking sidewalk(in the midst of some mexican protest march) to earn my ticket to Irving, saw EV in Santa Cruz, State College 0-3 (almost 4 fucking hours of PJ-at the time, longest PJ show EVER)...I have seen some cool PJ shows, and MSG was a great show, but many of you make it out to be a fucking cloud...OVERRATED.

It's not that it'll be the longest setlist, or the show with the most rarities...but the atmosphere is something you won't find at other shows.

And to clarify that I am not a MSG hater, I would go to MSG over Camden, Hartford, Va. Beach, PNC, Pittsburgh, Nassau or a handful of shittier venues ANY DAY, but it is cool to get excited...I just get tired of reading MSG this, MSG that...Blah, Blah, Blah...Sounds like a bunch of Yankee fans while they are winning...speaking of...WHERE DID ALL YOU YANKEES FANS GO???

  • In my opinion Philly crowds kick NY crowds asses.
But Eddie and the band love NYC so its still a great time.
Everything in NY tends to be over rated.
    Shows will be great though.

Of the shows ive been to MSG 1 2003 is probably around 8-10th best
    MSG 2 2003 isnt top 20

wow, I was at both msg 03 and I think nite 2 was a LOT more intense!
anyways, 9-11-98 was my 1st show and the 1 thing that will always stand out to me was the absolute pandemonium towards the end with Alive and Baba with fans just runnin around high fiving all the fans in between sections, rockin out hardcore in the aisles, (hell even me and my sis didnt even bother to go t0 our nosebleed seats, soon as we entered daughter was already playing so we found empty seats and kept getting closer till we wound up right behind Ed for that mic climb up the scaffolds and got a nice wave from him b4 he dropped down again) and man, that floor shook like crazy! I freaked out cause not even at Ranger games had I ever felt it shake that hard or even night 1 03 during DTE for that matter it wasnt as bad. I hope it gets as nuts this time..and whoever thinks the MSG shows are overrated, no way..that place always has some kind of energy when fans gather for shows like PJ...it just gets really loud! :)
Aah, fuck it, I’m just gonna go home, turn on the fuckin’ TV...
