New Songs for the August Dates

I am really hoping that a few new songs are debuted at either Fenway or Wrigley. Its been too long since they unveiled ANYTHING new. All this talk about Ghost, No Way and Stupid Mop, etc...Play some new shit, would ya?!
I'm really surprised there is not more chatter about the lack of new material.

I'd like for them to try out something new. I think if there were even rumors of them having been in the studio there would be more talk, but they have pretty much shot those down when asked.

This tour is in no way a Lightning Bolt 2 tour. They barely played any of the album each night minus LB and MYM. I loved this tour because they had complete freedom on making the sets.

I'm in this weird mode where I want to hear the old stuff played really well on this tour. I've done tours hoping to hear the rarest shit imagineable. I've done tours chasing white whale songs. I've done tours dying to hear new shit.

I know some people hate it, but this tour I'm hoping for the human jukebox. Play "the hits" inasmuch as there are hits, and play them well. I want a pair of three-hour singalongs at Wrigley. Take me back to my youth.

I want the Pearl Jam version of a Tom Petty show, basically. And I mean that in a good way.

There no doubt it will be a greatest hits set list. I'm ok with that. But damn, i just want to be at a show where they play something for the first time.

Wrigley '13 was the last time they played new unheard material if I'm not mistaken. Soooooo why not keep that going? Unveil a new song or 2 at Wrigley.

They played MYM (first time played) at the London, Ontario show on 07/16/13, three days before Wrigley. Wrigley got both MYM & LB (first time played).

MYM was already released tho partner.
Future days and LB were debuted at Wrigley. Way before the album came out.

For me I'm not sure how good the new stuff would be. Lightning Bolt has probably 4 songs I would want to hear at a concert again: Mind Your Manners (amazing), Getaway (although not spot on live), Pendulum, and Infallible.

Although it will most likely be a greatest hits selection, I would love love love love something knew man. These guys are still young dudes considering. I can't imagine the creative juices have dried up...

I'm not so sure the Wrigleys will be quote-unquote greatest hit shows.

Usually -- though granted not always -- these fan-club heavy shows can get weird. I'm OK with that, but I'm at the point where I'd like to have one more good Small Town sing-along over a fucked-up version of, say, Hold On. Which I love and have never heard live.

I guess I'm lucky in that it's going to be impossible for me to be disappointed with these shows.

they should have at least 5 new songs ready to play live, and at least a dozen they are considering an album with.

That's true, but that's not really a new Pearl Jam song. It really was a cool song tho, quite catchy for being written that day or whatever.

I don't think they have any new songs ready.

Eh...they debuted Lightning Bolt and Future Days at Wrigley in 2013. Both kinda underwhelmed that night. Since then Future Days has grown on me a little bit while Lightning Bolt has become a staple I look forward to. The catalog is so good as it is. I hate to see slots that could be filled with classics taken up by new songs nobody knows. That can kill a crowd.

So many great songs that don't get regular play. Love to hear that they're working on new stuff but let's hear a bit of In Hiding, In My Tree, Red Moz, Immortality, Marker etc....
