Amongst the Waves for Lake Michigan

Not a personal request, but a dedication to one of the most beautiful, improbable and underrated bodies of water on our planet would be much appreciated at Wrigley 8/20. Wife and I will be on the field for her first show. We have lived on Lake Michigan for most of our lives. I've always believed that there's something special about living in close proximity to a natural wonder - whether it's the Great Lakes, mountains, an ocean, a desert or otherwise - it's incredibly humbling. You can't help but feel small next to something so big and beautiful. No matter how wonderful or how difficult life can be, how well or how horribly we treat one another, how we appreciate or how we abuse the precious gifts that mother nature provides... Lake Michigan is a constant, centering influence in our lives. She is not indestructible, but she endures so much. She will survive and outlive all of us. She gives, never takes. She only provides for us and will never harm us.

Music is much the same. This song seems like a fitting tribute to something that gives all of us in the area so much. Lucky are we who get to swim amongst the waves in Lake Michigan.

    Have Amongst the Waves tattooed on my inner forearm, only song that will ever be a tattoo written on me....love the message of this song and it personally spoke to me during a time of darkness...I hope they play it, very underrated song

    Great song indeed, glad we got to hear it in Lauderdale on this past tour. Only time played so far in 2016.

    Can’t believe it's been 3 years since this one. We’ve marked the occasion by listening to the bootleg, watching some of LP2, and spent the day Sunday in the sand next to a windy, wavy Lake Michigan. Playing volleyball, watching the surfers and paddle boarders move in and out. Just wanted to take another moment to thank the band for this song and for playing it at Wrigley. What an incredible moment that was... one of many that night! Still means a lot to us. Thank you. THANK YOU! Can't say it enough.

    A lot of places don’t get excited about 4-5 footers, but it’s the little things in life, right? Lot of surfing in Milwaukee today! Can’t help but think of this song.
