Given To Run Chicago and Virtual Race... help us raise some money and win prizes!!!
Hey everyone,
On Sunday, August 21st we will be holding a "race" from The Navy Pier in Chicago to Soldier Field (5k). If you help us raise money by donating at least $10 to the cause, you will be entered into all the drawings we have from now until Chicago. Our grand prize will be a PJ engraved Pono player. These were limited to less than 500 made. All the money we raise will be given to the Wishlist Parties in Chicago. They are raising money for the People's School of Music in Chicago and PJ's own Vitalogy foundation. Please note: we are not affiliated with PJ or Wishlist. We are just a group of fans trying to do some good in the world.

Here's the backstory:
I was overweight (I still am). On my birthday on March 7th, I weight about 260lbs. I had enough and wanted to lose some weight. I made it a goal of mine to do a 5k on the off day in Chicago (Sunday, August 21st). I posted my progress on Facebook and I found out after some time I was inspiring others to lose weight too. Being the kind of person that I am, I wanted to see how big I could make this. If I could inspire others to lose weight, why not try to raise some money for the city of Chicago as a thank you to the city. Plus, the more money we raised, the more it would inspire me to run. I live in Gainesville Rock City in Florida and it's over 100 degrees out now. Uggghhhh.
So far we've given away some Foo Fighters merch, a Eddie Vedder tambourine he gave me in Hartford (sorry Ed but raising money will do more for the world than a tambourine on my wall). I will alway have the memory so I'm sure you will approve.
Anyway, if you are in Chicago come out and join us for a morning run. If you are somewhere else in the world, we are having a virtual race too so you can run your 5k anywhere. This way we will some how all be united for this cause no matter where you are in the world. Finally, help us raise some money for a great cause and help make the work a little better than it was yesterday.
