I was just reading your list of shows and their rankings... You liked 2000 better then 2008 (Tampa)?

    4 - 1998-09-23 West Palm Beach, FL
    2 - 2000-08-12 Tampa, FL
    6 - 2003-04-12 Orlando, FL
    5 - 2003-04-13 Tampa, FL
    3 - 2008-06-12 Tampa, FL
    1 - 2008-06-27 Hartford, CT (sorry haters, it's true ;)

I know, I know. I'm actually kinda conflicted about that myself. On one hand, this year in Tampa was amazing.

Took one of my best friends, who was a PJ live virgin, and he loved every minute of it. He wanted to hear Black, and they nailed it. One of the best concerts ever.

But I also have fond memories of 2000. See I took my dad to that show, and he got me into PJ in '92 in the first place.

Technically (and crowd participation) the '08 show is better, but they just kept playing in 2000. That whole deal with 'Indifference' (dad's fav PJ song, btw), 'RITFW' & everyone leaving only to come out and surprise us with 'Last Exit'.

3 hours they played. The sheer energy & commitment really stuck with me, so make of that what you will.

That's funny as hell we've been to virtually the same shows in the past 10 years :P

Oh... random questions... anyone have any bootlegs yet? How's it sound? Can you hear the audience participation in the background?

I bought Tampa today because I was expecting Bonnaroo to be up but it wasn't, and I wanted something. Its ok. For FLAC I thought it was going to be something more. It isn't like the Grand Rapids crowd.

Lets hope so. What an opener that would be for the closing show of the tour.

DTE is just such a sick live song, I remember in uniondale in 03 when the mic went out for the last verse of that song and the crowd took over and belted out the last few lines. Memorable stuff.

    Gotcha.

They did play forever in 2000. And we got Sleight of Hand...
Maybe I am still amped over the most recent show. Still fresh in the noggin..

    Thanks for explaining...

Long Road would be a nice, appropriate song for the last show of the tour as well.

I agree. But they have done it already in Mansfield. 7.11.03. Totally epic show, the experiment.

Yeah. They put it at the end of the boot because of technical difficulties. It was like a soundboard recording. Different than the rest of the boot.

They didn't close with Last Exit- it was only like that on the boot because the tap machine screwed up so they added a different recording of the song at the end of the show. The lights came on as they played RITFW

I'f I remember correctly, the recorder messed up during Last exit in teh set so they put a different source of the song (from that show) at the end of the boot...
