I know, I know. I'm actually kinda conflicted about that myself. On one hand, this year in Tampa was amazing.
Took one of my best friends, who was a PJ live virgin, and he loved every minute of it. He wanted to hear Black, and they nailed it. One of the best concerts ever.
But I also have fond memories of 2000. See I took my dad to that show, and he got me into PJ in '92 in the first place.
Technically (and crowd participation) the '08 show is better, but they just kept playing in 2000. That whole deal with 'Indifference' (dad's fav PJ song, btw), 'RITFW' & everyone leaving only to come out and surprise us with 'Last Exit'.
3 hours they played. The sheer energy & commitment really stuck with me, so make of that what you will.
That's funny as hell we've been to virtually the same shows in the past 10 years :P
Gotcha.
They did play forever in 2000. And we got Sleight of Hand...
Maybe I am still amped over the most recent show. Still fresh in the noggin..

wait a second. i seem to remember reading that they threw that last exit on the boot because it got cut from a previous live show. am i missing something?
Yeah. They put it at the end of the boot because of technical difficulties. It was like a soundboard recording. Different than the rest of the boot.

They didn't close with Last Exit- it was only like that on the boot because the tap machine screwed up so they added a different recording of the song at the end of the show. The lights came on as they played RITFW

Close. It IS from the Tampa 2000 show, they just had to get an alternate source, because Brett or somebody had shut off the recorder after RITFW & the lights were on.
But, to everyone's surprise. It wud'nt over til it was over I think they pulled it from the soundboard feed, hence why there's no real crowd audibles during the song play at the end of the CD. But I was there, it happened through & through!

* The tape machines malfunctioned during the live recording of Last exit. Even though the error was quickly fixed, the song was lost. The show has been cut so there is no break in the audio where Last Exit should have existed. A masterboard tape version of Last Exit has been included at the end of the CD.
Copied directly from the note inside the physical bootleg.
Once in a while you can get shown the light, in the strangest of places if you look at it right.
yea it was. the notes say something like their recording equipment failed and it was lost forever but they put a live eversion at the end to make up for it.
