Haha, I do look at some of these lists and wonder if people are serious!
But that's the beauty of the band's catalogue I guess
2010: London 2012: Manchester I, Manchester II, Manchester (EV) 2014: Milan, Leeds, Milton Keynes 2017: London II (EV) 2018: Amsterdam I, London I, Prague, London II 2019: London (EV) 2022: London I, London II, Budapest, Krakow, Amsterdam
Are the Riot Act in last place lists just due to politics or something?
Worst selling album. Not that good live. People hate to admit this and defend it like they wrote it or it s one of their own kids.
Oh, okay thanks. Good information. To me it is very much a mid-ranking album, but still seems way ahead of the most recent albums musically. Good job we can all have our own opinions I guess.
I'm with this guy. If you don't find yourself singing along to "Amongst The Waves", "Force of Nature", "The Fixer" and feel something deep from "Just Breathe" and "The End" then I'm going to assume you're a cyborg with no soul.
A few more responses and the stats have changed a little. Out of now 51 responses, here are the averages:
Yield 3.4 Vs. 3.6 Vitalogy 3.7 No Code 3.7 Ten 4.1 (Ten at #5 is nucking futs) Binaural 5.5 Riot Act 6.7 Avacado 7.0 Lightning Bolt 8.0 Backspacer 9.1
Would be interesting to bump these up against average # of songs from each album that PJ is playing this tour. Without running the exact mumbers I think the stats indicate that the 51 of us collectively would prefer less Lighting Bolt and Ten and more No Code.

Since I believe PJ's strongest music is live vs. studio....For me I'm ranking the albums by songs I would like to hear live or songs I would listen to on a boot. I very rarely listen to their studio albums.
1. No Code (9 songs)- Sometimes, Who You Are, In My Tree, Smile, Off He Goes, Red Mosquito, Present Tense, I'm Open, Around The Bend 2. Avacado (6 songs) Life Wasted, Marker In The Sand, Gone, Army Reserve, Come Back, Inside Job 3. Yield (6 songs) Faithfull, No Way, Untitled, Low Light, In Hiding, All Those Yesterdays 4. Riot Act (6 songs) Can't Keep, Love Boat Captain, Cropduster, I Am Mine, Thumbing My Way, All Or None 5. Binaural (5 songs) Light Years, Insignificance, Rival, Sleight Of Hand, Parting Ways 6. 7. Ten (4 songs)- Garden, Deep, Oceans, Release 7.. Lightning Bolt (3 songs)- Infalliable, Future Days, Getaway 8. Backspacer (3 songs)- Force of Nature, Unthought Known, Amongst The Waves 8. Vitalogy (2 Songs) Tremor Christ, Whipping 9. Vs (1 Song) Indifference
Random thoughts...No Code is incredible. Who you are, Inside Job and All or None are incredible songs that don't get enough love. I was at the Greenville show for Vs, I think I'm certainly in the minority when I say Vs is my least favorite album, but that's the beauty of music it's subjective. Avacado is underrated.
Yield Binaural No Code Lightning Bolt Vitalogy Ten VS Backspacer Avocado Riot Act
It is bizarre putting them in order...I can second guess myself. With that said, I looked at the list and took put them the order that I would choose for listening purposes...
Changes all the time. Hard to rank art, but I can rank them on personal/sentimental favorites. Yield No Code Vs Ten Vitalogy Pearl Jam Lightning Bolt Binaural Riot Act Backspacer

I need Hard to Imagine once, live, I'll do things I'm not proud of to make this happen
Ten- started it all. Not a bad song on the album. There is a reason u don't skip a song on it
No Code- Band took control of own destiny. Can hear the uncertainty. First show was Moline 2014 this one sticks with me. Trails off at end but first 10 tracks are fire
Yield- Album flows so well. Best album to drive to by far
VS.- Glorified G kills this album but there isn't a weakness elsewhere. Everything else is phenomenal. Pretty interchangeable among first 4 albums. RVM my favorite PJ song.
Avocado- Band had fun with this one. Only song not a big fan of Parachutes. Starts off like a rocket. Inside Job is an work if art. Gone and Come Back are great tracks as well.
Vitalogy- Great album. The 3-4 oddballs on this bring it down the list. The other 10 tracks are brilliant. Would be higher up if not weighed down by the few.
Lightning Bolt- I like it. First 7 tracks I rarely skip. 2nd half of album slows down but still solid
Riot Act- Inconsistent but good tracks like I am Mine, Green Disease, LBC, Thumbing,Ghost, You Are, etc. It's not a every situation listener which hurts it
Backspacer- it's a cookie cutter album and short. Still like it though. Got Some, amongst the waves, just breathe, the fixer, unthought known. Easy listener
Binaural- The album is just fine, I just never have had the urge to listen to it regularly. Some good tracks.
Including lost dogs, I don't think there is a bad album in the lot. I have liked them all. The only album i'm not a huge fan of being binaural and its not a dislike, more so the flow of the album. Plenty of songs that would get spins.
I like it all to be honest. I'm pretty happy with about 95% of this bands catalogue. I can see why my tastes are different as I just got into them last 3-4 years
Oh boy... I always read these, i never don them. Well, maybe i did 3 boards ago, but new material has surfaced since then. And since it just says ranking them and not by how, i'm going to go by the order i'd like to listen to them, versus the order of my perceived quality of...
1. Yield 2. No Code 3. Riot Act (just saw them a TON that tour and too many great memories. Why do I feel a need to justify its 3rd place rank?? nvm.) 4. Vitalogy 5. Binaural 6. Backspacer 7. Versus 8. Lightning Bolt 9. Ten 10. Avocado
If i were to slot Lost Dogs it would probably be 3rd.

Typically Riot Act lovers are very, very hardcore lefty liberals.
People can only handle so much Riot Act at one time if at all.

I actually felt bad putting Backspacer so low as I have Amongst the Waves tattooed on my forearm, that song has extreme meaning to me
