Ed in 1990- Ed later

There's a big difference among others.
1990:
Ed raging, Ed runnig around, Ed diving
and in my opinion- one thing is missing : bottle of wine- there's sparkling water instead.
Later Ed: no raging, no running, no diving- and bottle of wine instead.

It's Ed'a thing what he does although for me non-drinkin Ed was MUCH better.
Seems like he changed from young sober idealistic SE hardcore activist to old, cynical bluesman with rthe bottle.

    why?
    it's not about personal
    it's about way of performance
  • You think you can just go on the message board of a band and start making observations of the lead singer? You FOOL!

Recenty i watched a lot of very old gigs of P.J.
There was so much of energy, so different energy.
And i realised that something' s missing.
    The bottle.
    Just wondering:)

Just watched Tivoli Holland 1992...Wow..Wish I was there, could have been there. Could have been dancing on stage..I know what you mean. These shows were so intensive and full of power, but hey, this is 16 years ago. Maybe no bottle of wine on stage but they had Dutch coffeeshops..

I'm sure I've seen the bottle in early shows too...might not have gone through 2 though.

but I think you missed teh most important point:
    1990- Ed 26
    2006- Ed 42, father of 1..

    'nuf said.

Rather than being birthed like a normal child, Chuck Norris instead
decided to punch his way out of his mother's womb. Shortly thereafter
    he grew a beard.

f course he's not 20 anymore- but the change occured in 1993 and was quite rapid.
Ten tour and Vitalogy tour it was like two different Eddie's- altough only 2 or 3 years between.

And it was the time when the bottle appeared...

    hush

He had to stop stage diving. According to Eric Johnson, their tour manager, he was getting torn to pieces by the crowd. I'm talking scratches, gouges, hair pulled out. Plus after watching some of that footage, as exciting as it was, we're lucky that he's still alive.

He is still just as intense. He just channels it into the performance. Sometimes when he gets really intense during a song and closes his eyes, it almost looks like he's vibrating.

hmmm... a vibrating Eddie... better not mention that to the laydeees on some of the threads hanging around here or they'll start sliding off their chairs... ;)

Just about any word describing Eddie has most of us doing that. He's just so fuckin' hot - especially in Reading. Yum. ;)
    VoV
