Maybe we are on to something here. Instead of fighting evolution... just let things happen.

Get rid of warning labels and place no restrictions on guns: the idiots will weed themselves out and eventually society can begin to further itself.

But you would have to also get rid of lawyers...
    Next purge!

Lol. Just go full on laissez faire on it? Hmmm. Wtf would happen I wonder, hypothetically?? Surely nothing good!

should crazy people be allowed to have guns?

    too many of them do.
Correct. We need more stringent background checks and better laws. But all out bans of guns won't work. People need to be more realistic, especially our leaders in all parties.
90% of americans agree with you on the stringent background checks. 9 in 10 people surveyed. will congress move on it? absolutely not. this example alone is the reason why people like trump and bernie are doing well because people feel that their elected officials are doing nothing and the voice of the people is falling on deaf ears.
You do realize there are already background checks in place in the us
not mandatory ones for ALL gun and ammo sales/purchases.
no definitely not for ammo sales. there's no way that is going to happen. pretty sure you have mandatory background checks for all FFL's. The only thing you don't have is background checks when it's person to person.

    True.
And the circle of AMT continues.

Funny, I've never once seen a thread like that, and I don't see anyone focusing on gun suicides at all in the AMT, since it's not really a factor in the debate.

She refused to drop her gun, prompting the cops to shoot and kill her. That's an easy way out if anything.

there should be person to person background checks.

when i was 12 years old a friend of mine borrowed a .22 from a kid on my school bus. he said he was going to use it to hunt squirrels. the day after the kid got the gun from the other kid, he purposely blew his head off. he was 15 years old and his name was Matt Clarke. he went by Bruno. Bruno's death was the most traumatic experience of my childhood and it has shaped my views on guns ever since. they are too easy for anybody to get. even pre-teens.

Thank you for sharing, I can only imagine how traumatic that must have been, particularly for the kid who gave him the gun

I feel so sorry for the daughters they had their life in front of them.
If their mother had gotten better help for her mental problems maybe this wouldn't have happened. I don't know much about this story but once again a gun has ended up in the wrong hands.
