I'm looking for the anti skate. Do I need to unscrew the back of this?

It's a knob, doesn't look like that turntable you have there is equipped with an anti skate knob.

    Pro-Ject Debut Carbon turntable w/acrylic platter $600
    Pioneer 8500-II amp $250
    Pioneer 8500-II receiver $150
    Sony Disc Changer $150
Martin Logan Motion 15 speakers $700
    8ga speaker wire $50

$2000 setup. You can go cheaper though.

Do any of you with the Pro-ject Debut Carbon have a problem with hum that I've been reading about on a lot of reviews? I wanna make sure I buy this puppy only to hear a slight hmmmmzmmzmmzzzzzzmmmmzzmmm all the time. Thanks for any info.
No humming from mine. Sometimes my speakers buzz but that has nothing to do with the turntable.

That's what I thought, I just didn't want to miss anything. So my best bet would be to just purchase a better record player I'm assuming?

Yup. At the end of the day I know you want to get the best out of your vinyl experience, this will require to shell out a little bit more than what you may have initially had in mind to spend, but trust me it makes a world of a difference. It makes a world of a difference in sound quality, and preserving the life of your vinyl. Trust me you will not be disappointed at the end.

Based on the little bit of the picture you posted above, yes, go out and buy yourself a proper turntable. That one looks like plastic junk.
And so you see, I have come to doubt
All that I once held as true
    I stand alone without beliefs
The only truth I know is you.

Update: So, about a month or two ago, my girlfriend gave me her father's old record player from the 1970's (I'm guessing). I plugged it in and it sounded horrible. After doing a little research, I realized that since I had an old player and a new receiver, that I needed a pre-amp. So I ordered one and hooked it up. The volume sounded much better, but it still sounded bad. The only other thing that I could think of was maybe the needle. I ordered one off of Amazon and it finally arrived today. I installed it - and it sounds incredible! I'm very happy!

Thanks! Yeah, after purchasing the preamp and it still sounding like crap, I found the needle on Amazon, ordered it - but then realized that it was coming from Canada and I would have to wait another two weeks for it to arrive. I figured at this point, I could wait a little longer to get it running.
