Vinyl Re-issue Speculation Thread

So seeing that Ten -> Yield (+ singles) on vinyl...

Here is hoping for more reissues.

Wonder if there is any chance of:

Live on Two Legs
Binaural
Riot Act
Avocado
Live on Ten Legs

...being re-issued.

Benny Hall would be a nice little addition to go along with a Riot Act re-issue.

I would say Binaural, Riot Act, and Avocado will.

Lo2L, Lo10L, Lost Dogs, and Benny, no.

Why is the Benny so rare/expensive? Just bc it was limited to 2000? Please excuse my ignorance.

-The quantity definitely plays a part.
-The show itself plays a huge part - an all-acoustic show at the prestigious Benaroya Hall.
    -All box sets were hand-numbered
    -Wine-colored vinyl
-The fact the numerous people have 2, 3, or more copies and keep them sealed on a shelf for the sake of saying "I got it, you don't" instead of letting someone actually play it and enjoy it.

I agree with this. I could maybe see LO2L but the rest, no.

My guess is they've given up on the boxsets, so for the next while we'll see the studio albums get re-released. Yield/No code are already announced, so we'll get Bianuaral, Riot Act, and Avacado.

They maybe we'll see Lo2L and Lost Dogs. I'm not sure they'd reissue rearviewmirror on vinyl (not sure they'd put the effort into a greatest hits collection). I personally doubt Benaroya get's a reissue. It was limited to 2000 from the get go. They limited it right out of the gate saying it was a special release. It's not like the other albums where they are limited by accident (due to low demand for vinyl when the albums came out). Benaroya sold out in less than 48 hours and was already a sought after collector's item a year later. I personally think it won't get reissued. If they wanted more copies out there they wouldn't of limited to 2000 in the first place. It was a fairly small number even for 2004.

And they released it on CD & still sounds just as incredible!

There were additional Benny's via a popup shop and a limited, LIMITED number via the 2015 Record Store Day Mystery Sale...something like 5-10 of them via the RSD sale. The ones via the popup shop were either not numbered at all or have a different number. The ones via RSD were something like RSD2015 and then the number.

What they *could* do is Benny on black vinyl in a vault release. It wouldn't be wine colored, wouldn't have the special box, etc. Sure, it would be the same show, but not the same vinyl...capiche? The wine-colored ones would still have the value.

They have also taken full advantage of the scarcity and had a number of sales to benefit charities and such. Would be kind of a dick move to sell all those at an inflated rate to people in good faith, then willingly diminish the value.

The copies sold at the pop ups were from the same pressing as the original ones. They were all hand numbered so they could write whatever they want on them. It's not uncommon to do an overrun of 10% (or more) on limited edition items (for emergencies). I suppose that means there's probably closer to 2200 of them than 2000, but it's never been repressed.

They could repress it on bare bones black vinyl, but I don't see them doing it. It was a limited edition thing from the beginning. If they wanted more copies out there, they probably would of done a larger pressing (even in 2004). The band seems to struggle with re-releasing stuff. So I Imagine the priority is on studio albums and maybe lo2l/lost dogs. I guess I don't see the band re-releasing it (even though as you point out, they could, because they can do whatever they want).

I would just think this because LO2L is super good and hard to find, and LO10L is not very good and easy to find.

Also, I noticed that the "Deluxe" 2xLP re-issue of the Singles soundtrack with the second lp full of unreleased bonus stuff, which was recently listed, now says "This item is no longer available" Dammit!

It is quite possible that Rearviewmirror will be repressed on vinyl as the Essential Pearl Jam. The Essential Bob Dylan has just been repressed on vinyl and in the past couple of years they did the Elvis and Johnny Cash ones. They never came out on vinyl previously but with the vinyl boom...
