Pearl Jam 25 Years: The IMAX Experience

Should have done this. Live songs from the past 25 years of touring on IMAX screens. Really would be awesome to see the evolution of the live experience and energy over the last 25 years. But instead we get a 25 years silver T shirt in the shop. Just sayin....

The problem with IMAX is you need to film in IMAX... lol. Anything filmed before the 2006 tour is most likely on videotape, hd for anything since. HD would looked a little less crappier than SD, but neither have the resolution to be used for an IMAX film. You'd have to film a new concert specifically on IMAX to make that magic work.

I've never actually heard of a band filming in IMAX. IMAX film is huge so its not easy. I've heard there's now digital equivelents so maybe it's something that wiill be more technically acheivable in the future. Maybe PJ could pioneer it. Film another gorge show in IMAX quality :)

The Rolling Stones did it back in the early 90's.

I'm going to have to track that down. The Steel Wheels tour was the big tour when I was old enough to figure out who the Stones were. I remember really wanting to go but I was pretty young and non of my family was into concerts... That'd be an interesting video to watch... must be on bluray by now.

It's also impressive that according to imdb it's 89 minutes long. That's huge by IMAX standards due to the size of the film. I think many Imax movies are limited to 40 minutes and what not.

I'd have no problem if PJ decided to film a show on IMAX film :)
