Loved the Bonnaroo setlist

Maybe I'm in the minority but I'd love the nonstop energy of a greatest hits show once in awhile, not often but a couple times a tour wouldn't hurt. Back in 03 they were doing these types of sets at the college stops (Champaign, Penn St, etc.), brings in a whole new wave of fans. We may think that the only people that go to see PJ are 10Club members but then we'd be mistaken. Just a thought. One night of 33-38 consecutive crowd sing-alongs would seem pretty fucking awesome in my opinion (granted I've heard almost everything live).

I love seeing Pearl Jam any time I have the chance. I could give a shit what they play. I think like 3-4 people on this forum complain about a 'greatest hits' shows or whatever - that leaves a lot of people who just love seeing them live.

I'm pretty sure State College 03 was far from a "greatest hits setlist"

Not that it has anything to do with the discussion of enjoying a "greatest hits setlist"... but I just wanted to throw that out there...

X 1,000 I was at that show, and it sure wasn't a greatest hits show by no means.

Hits are subjective, They played a lot of songs off their first 3 and most well known albums. I could argue that 25 songs from that set meet the criteria from Average Joes point of view

I was there too and I still think it's my favorite show. It was LIKE a greatest hits show in that the majority of the show was like about 80% from the first 3 albums. Think they only played 3 Riot Act songs, which was like the least amount of songs at probably any show that tour except maybe Holmdel or wherever they played 2 songs off each album in order for the main set.

Holmdel is a highly underrated show.

Take a peak at the 2008 Roo set

Saturday Night headline spot at Bonnaroo is not your typical festival appearance, it's probably the biggest slot of the year in the north american music world and most bands try to blow it out (see 2008)

Hard to Imagine as the opener, Gone, and WMA definitely not typical, but the rest I don't see out of place but I get your point....Lolla 2007 was similar as well to known hits....this year definitely seemed pretty standard and I have ZERO problem with that as they are playing to a different type of crowd

like I stated I don't get wrapped up in the setlist I'm just glad to be there

i agree. i was there, and it was pretty much what i expected. it sounded good, the energy was great, and overall it was a really fun show. of course i wish it were a lot longer, but that's OK. LCD was also incredible, and their set was even shorter. so much good music, and such a great festival, no complaints from me.

Some "die hard fans" complaining about a "greatest hits" set...they can play whatever they want when I see them...hits, rarities, full albums front to back, covers...whatever they want and I'll still be happy

I agree, play whatever they want except for The Fixer.
