Please state any issues you have with the Karate Kid movies

Daniel is a douche canoe and deserves the beat down he got for ruining Johnny's joint with water in the bathroom stall

Poor parenting.. Mom moves across country for a computer job, quits that job to work in a Chinese restaurant, quits that job to move to Fresno whilst making her son live with the apartment complex's maintenance man.. Who, by the way, likes his booze and boats without the proper safety floatation devices.. And, may be into slave labor

Seems to me there was way more "stuff" than golf.. And, it turns out Ali is a dirty back stabbing whore

From what I've seen on Nostalgia Critic, that Hillary Swank one is dumb as hell.

I'm pretty sure Daniel's mom's late 60's Chevelle wagon had an automatic transmission when they pulled up to Ali's house as she puts it into park.. But then a few minutes later it is magically a stick that can be push started by popping the clutch.. Bullshit

Well, my husband's name is Daniel. And I occasionally have taken to tacking "San" after it.

(he may or may not be happy with this)

Who is gonna give Ray J. T. Those waisted hours trying to catch a fly with chopsticks back? Ralph Macchio? Ali's obviously much uglier friends in an attempt to make her look hotter? I don't think so

So what I am hearing here is that you have tried wax on/wax off, the fly catching and whatever else I can't remember about that movie and none of it worked. You are not a ninja master and you are angry. It's ok let it all out Cav.

This scene. A 60-some-odd year old man beats up 5 or 6 minors and no charges are pressed? Pfft.

Teeth. Ralph has some way crooked teeth. I know, I know. Poor kid from Jersey, but . . .

No charges for that car wreck Ralphie caused by running into traffic with the shower curtain strapped to his back and blinding drivers.

The Karate Kid is a great movie. It’s the story of a hopeful, young karate enthusiast whose dreams and moxie take him all the way to the All Valley Karate Championship. Of course, sadly, he loses in the final round to that nerd kid. But, he learns an important lesson about gracefully accepting defeat.

No way in hell a dork like Daniel would leave Okinawa without Kumiko. What the hell was he thinking? I would have stayed in Okinawa for her. Damn.

No one over 12 was allowed to see it so I have no idea what it's about.

Just curious - do you folks mentally or verbally pronounce karate as kar-AH-tea or ka-rah-TAY?
  • HobbesHobbes Posts: 6,418
Tea not Tay. Saying Tay makes one sound like a douch-ay.
  • CAVSTARR313CAVSTARR313 Posts: 8,756
Ka ra Tay? Miyagi says it that way.. Slave driving drunk midget stuck in the past

Did Daniel really learn anything from painting the house? I mean, he was doing it all wrong and Miyagi was gone fishing all day.
  • CAVSTARR313CAVSTARR313 Posts: 8,756
I don't recall a single defense strategy that he learned doing house chores being used in the tournament..

    Please, are you new here?

The first rule to all styles of martial arts is you must learn patience and control. If cannot master these you are just a poser.
So yes he had him do a lot of useless shit but the little whiney shit was learning at the same time. Besides child labour is where it's at. Isn't why people have them?

I don't actually recall him "learning" any offense what so ever.. He should have gotten the ever loving shit beat out of him in the first round.. You can't just learn karate in a few weeks and win a tournament.. No way, no how.. The fat guy that just threw a bunch of aimless punches could have handed his ass to him

Daniel should have been disqualified for that crane kick. Illegal move according to USANFK Sport Karate Rules.
