Best live versions of "Rival" and "Pilate"?

  • The only live version of Rival I've heard is from 6/26/00, Hamburg. Its pretty good.

  • i saw rival at jones beach 8/24/00. that song is gritty. pilate ive never seen but the bridge (stunned by my own reflection...) is awesome.

    Try these two:

    Pilate : 6/30/98 Target center
    Minneapolis, MN (Audience boot but great performance / sound)

    Rival: 7/3/03 Mansfield, Ma
    Official boot... hate to seem territorial but the whole performance of this show was phe-nominal... Rival fits in nicely..
    Matt had some killer drum lobs..

    Looks like I've seen Rival there than for sure, and at Alpine 00 I think too???
    No pilate for me, never, and I love it!

    I was in the lot before the show listening to binaural and my buddy says to me while gods dice is playing "bet ya $50 they dont play this"..I say your on and won $50

    has to be one of the most beautiful sounding moments pj has put to record..

    in fact, pearl jam are masters of excellent bridges!

    ...but one guitar (I guess Stone's) is missing in the instrumental bridge because the cable connection gets loose...sounds like a tremolo for a few seconds, then it's gone and he probably changed the cable...I was there at the show but could not see what was happening...
