***The Official Australian/NZ Summer Thread 2016/2017***

Although I'm from Canada, I feel like it's time our faithfull brothers & sisters down south got a full fledged tour. It's been 7 Long years since the 2009 Australian headlining tour (not counting the BDO shows), and before that, I don't believe the band has played New Zealand since the1998 Yield tour!

This is a humble request for a long, slowly drawn out, creative tour for the southern hemisphere summer 2016/2017 (anywhere from November to February). Eddie can celebrate the Cubs ending their 109 year World Series drought with a well deserved, nice, cruisy surf trip. Also all of us in North America (especially those of us in dreary places like Vancouver, can plan for an Endless Summer, and all of the dedicated fans in Australia and New Zealand can get treated to the fantastic set lists fans we here in North America have experienced on this tour so far.

This thread is to plead for many shows....rural shows...and shows with many days in between (to allow for travel and soaking up the scenery). Not only Sydney (but please many dates in Sydney so we can surf the Northern Beaches!), but places like Whangarei (Toll Stadium capacity 25,000 - and close to some of the most gorgeous beaches in the world along the Tutukaka Coast), Dunedin (Forsyth Barr Stadium capacity 30,500 - and close to all the diverse Otago wildlife), Wellington (Westpac Stadium capacity 36,000), Hamilton (Waikato Stadium (capacity 30,500), Rotorua (Rotorua International Stadium 26,000), Nelson (Trafalgar Park (Capcity 20,000 - close to all those fantastic wineries), etc...That's just scratching the surface, there are so many great venues, parks, and places in both NZ and Australia!

I'm sure the band will be tired after this NA spring/summer tour, but after a well deserved fall break, a triumphant return to the Southern Hemisphere would surely be welcomed!

Thanks for listening, and hope to see you next "Summer"!

Cheers

    Great thread!!!
Yes - it is time for the boys to head back down here.....
We average a tour roughly every 3-4 years so the timing is right.

Maybe Jeff could convince RNDM to tag along and do a few club shows as well??

Yeah, this suggestion is aces. I would totally go to NZ and AUS. I've never been to New Zealand. PJ would be a great excuse.

Great thread would give me another opportunity to travel to Aus to see my sister and family....and my favorite band of course! Been there for the 2006 and 2009 tours.

You should all know Pearl Jam played Auckland and Christchurch in November 2009.

    Still, tour would be nice...

I've been to Australia 3 x for concert tours: twice for Springsteen, once for U2. I would DEFINITELY go back for a PJ arena tour. The stadium/festivals...nah.....
