Don't want my wife's first show to be in an arena, looking for two GAs for Aug. 20 at Wrigley.

*edit, thanks for all the feedback everyone, I guess I'll forego GAs and I'll consider anything for night one.

Thanks!

Best of luck man. GA's for night 1 are going to be tough. a spare maybe floating around as some have traded for fenway or night 2. May want to start considering plan B. Any 10C tickets are few and far between. Might have to face the fate of stub hub. Good luck on the hunt though.
  • Thanks, wbutler29. What are 10C tickets?

GA were only available via the fan club (10 club...or 10C). Fans cannot pick the 10C tickets up until the day of the show, and are prohibited from selling them for more than face value.

GA at Wrigley sounds all fine and dandy until it starts pouring. Be sure to take weather into consideration to your experience. If you guys get the bad weather we did in 2013, your wife might swear off all future PJ shows. I actually think a seated arena show is a better intro, unless your wife is a concert junkie and would love the GA experience. Except they are done with arena shows for the year (that we know of) so your options are either Wrigley, Fenway or the festivals.

If I have heard right, all 10c tix for Wrigley are on the field. Rain or shine!

I agree with the request of 2 GA tickets. The person who has purchased the tickets is the only person who can pick them up. 10c tickets are only sold in pairs. It's going to be tough. FYI, there were fake tickets floating around out there for some spring shows. Watch what you buy if you find them.

If you don't want the thread to get locked, I would consider removing the "Willing to pay over face within reason" from your request. As stated before, it is against 10c rules to pay more than face on the forum here.

I would take an arena show any day over a ball park show unless it is The Gorge or Telluride. Ballparks will be fun for the novelty of them, but arenas have better sound and seating.

Your edit isn't going to work with the mods. Very strict about that stuff here.

See the Posting Guidelines. Too many are not following the rules and posting trades where the value of the trade far outweighs the price of the ticket. We are not a broker site - do not sell or ask someone to sell tickets above face value here. No one wants to sit around scrutinizing trades all day … so please be careful or we'll just have to put an end to it. Thank you for your cooperation.

PJ plays its best by far in arenas. Wrigley is bigger than what PJ is ideally suited to. That isn't to say Wrigley isn't an awesome show because it's an historical place and it means a lot to Eddie. It's just that they aren't as able to make that special connection with the crowd on the same level as they are in an arena, and their connection with the crowd is their special talent. Plus, at Wrigley, ALL of the seats in the stands suck. You can't see shit simply because there is an entire baseball field between you and the stage. You'll never find GA tix as I'm sure has been pointed out already. But anyway, since all of the arena shows are over for the year (presumably... hope I'm wrong), I'm not saying you should wait for something else. PJ anywhere is infinitely better than no PJ! ... Just don't expect your wife to be quite as blown away as she might be at an arena show, where the band truly shines. Plus, Wrigley is actually quite the shit hole compared to most arenas. The women's washrooms are especially horrible.

Yup - I also completely misunderstood the offer at hand. Let me know if the terms & conditions change. I'll run it past the wife!
  • No one is taking my wife but me guys, pending tickets. Let me know if anyone is selling.

Arenas MUCH better than any stadium show...although as a Cubs fan any show at Wrigley is good for me.

better than watching the Cubs at Wrigley anyways....
    ....yes, even this year.
  • I appreciate the feedback about Wrigley but I live in Toronto which I think (italisized becuase it's just my opinion) has an awful arena for shows, the ACC, and an amazing outdoor venue, the Amp.

Stadium's are awesome if you have good seats and you're up close. My mega issue with stadiums is they're so much bigger than arenas. It's hard to see from the back of the stadium. The smaller nature of an Arena means there's way less worse than nosebleed seats :) The hard part of an Arena is that in a giant market it can be insanely hard to acquire tickets.
