Its a beautiful song. I always thought you could switch "thumbing" with "drinking" and the song would still work. Thoughts?

    The song wouldn't be as lonely if you switched the words. I also like thinking of thumbing as strumming. I think your proposal would butcher it.

    But then I can't sing "Pissing, pissing, pissing away. I got myself some urine, then I gave it away." every time I go to the toilet. And that would be sad.
