this is a fucking unbelievable cover. mike does a flawless job with his guitar work. does anyone else love this as much as i do?

    This was my first PJ show ever and it was unbelievable to see this. A woman at my hotel told me earlier in the day that they played a snippet of it the night before and I was just hoping for that. When the lyrics started I was ecstatic. I've listened to the boot so many times since.

    you really are so lucky to have been at this show. i would give almost anything to have been at the 05 show or either of the ones in 06. i listen to the boots frequently but i am really jealous of those who were able to go. as far as the cover goes...its perfect.

    I still can't believe how many PJ shows I missed in my area before, and even after, that show, yet I traveled across the country to see them. I missed a couple of flights because I was flying standby and it was really expensive but it was so worth it.

    It's an awesome version!!

    The version at the Newcastle 06 show was also fantastic and was unexpected by everyone (including the band)
    As Mike veered off from YL, Ed and the guys were just standing together just chilling, waiting for Mike to do his thing and finish the show. You could see Ed, Stone, Jeff & Matt just give each other a little look and then they quickly rush off, pick up their instruments and join in with Mike to play a stellar rendition of the Hendrix classic :) Memories :)

    as if hearing the tag on YL the night before was not good enough, the band did a full version of LW on night two. I cried tears of joy.

    I will go compare it tonight, but the Honolulu show in 06 ended with the greatest combo I have ever heard.....when the drums kicked in and you realized that they were doing the whole song, I felt like "blowing my mind up" (Stern fans will appreciate that)

    I got the full version of this song at my first PJ concert and a tag of it during YL for my 2nd. I wonder how often that has happened :).

    Mike kills, the band is totally tight on it, the whole thing is phenomenal, one of my fav moments on boots.

    When I play it for friends, it's important to put it in context -- here we are in dead heat of summer, 116 degree heat, outdoors, middle of nowhere and these guys have just played a fantastic nearly 3 hour set, it's all winding down, Mike just tuckin' everyone into their sleeping bags.

    When outta nowhere comes Little Wing. Just popping and tight and jammin goodness! I mean you can hear how worn down Stone is at the end of the first set, his solo on uh, something, is just AWFUL, they plow through the encores and then SHAZAM!

    It's freaking phenomenal (sp). mike just tears the whole song up, it's awesome. great cover.
