I'm loving the new tom/drum Matt uses on WMA, but also throws into the other songs. It really ups the dynamics.

    I've noticed that too on the boots and it's really an interesting sound to accent various parts of various songs. I believe it's a timbale, but not sure. Since Matt plays tom tom heavy stylistically, it's a perfect fit to enhance his tribal like sounds at times. I've heard it on this years boots on songs like Sirens, RVM, and WMA. I like it tremendously!

    Someone near by me in TOR 1 was super geeked about his kit. Said it was "huge" :giggle:

    But I'm not a musician and had no idea what small would even be.

    I am always blown away my Matt. I couldn't see him in KY obviously could hear him but I still had a slight disconnect with no sight love. Heard his mini solo loud and clear :smiley:

    For some reason I could hear him perfectly in TOR and he was killin it :rock_on:

    People were saying the sound was off in KY.

    Anyway sorry carry on!

    Edit: sight line. :lol: sight love haha maybe a little of that applies too!

    I don't know much about drum kits, but after watching some videos of these recent gigs, I felt he sounded more like he did in 98, which is in my opinion the best he's ever sounded with PJ. Looking forward to hear the bootlegs, since PJ radio is no longer working for me at work.
    If I knew where it was, I would take you there.

    Right. I also noticed more intensity during Alive.

    Having listened to Greenville and Hampton boots, Matt was the one that stood out to me the most as far as new interesting parts and added energy. Very reminiscent of 2000 style to me. He was ON this tour

    Love Matts sound on wma in Greenville. Really sound great on the bootleg.
