    Who was hating? I'm not sure what prompted such anger.

    As to cynicism, it's all over the place - has nothing to do with putting others down.

    I do see some people taking digs at each other at times (regardless of issue, party, etc.) but not sure why today is any different.

    I just view the people dissing other people on the internet as the disser expressing their own fear, anger, and ignorance. It's their internal struggle coming out, and isn't really about the other person at all.
