What was it like getting out of MANSFIELD parking lot?

edited June 2008 in Given To Fly (live)
It took me nearly an hour to get out of the hartford lot. next hartford show i'm spending the 20 so i dont have to deal with that. is it more of the same in mansfield or with cops around (as it sounds) are you able to get out of the lot in a timely fashion?

It took us about an hour and a half to get out of the Mansfield parking lot last night. I've been to 7 shows there and this was probably the worst, we were in a side lot fairly close to the venue. Other shows haven't been nearly as bad, it really depends on where you end up parking.
  • We were parked in one of the smaller, closer lots and didn't get out onto the road until 1:30 a.m. Didn't even bother to start the car until we were sure the line was going to start moving.

They should really have multiple exits. The parking situation is just so bad.

In my car in lot 12 by 11:08, on the highway by 11:40. I scooted out of the venue quickly at the show's end - going solo helps! - so I was able to make it out pretty quickly.

Hoping for the same luck tomorrow night...

It wasn't too bad actually. Took us about a half hour to get out onto the highway...we couldn't complain! :)

Paid $40 for the premier parking as we had a 6am flight to catch the next day out of Providence. Stopped for a piss break after the concert and still was on the highway within 10 minutes of getting to our car. Back at the providence airport by midnight

I am ALL ABOUT the VIP lot. Parked there for the 1st time and was easy in, easy out...Best $40 I've spent in awhile...
  • I used one of the $20 lots outside of the venue, and it was about 15 minutes. Not bad.

2 hour 10 minutes from time I got into my car, till the time I went through the front gates...SUCKED, that setup it horrible. We got there at 3pm to get out tickets, and told one of the parking attendants that we were just doing a pickup, but they still had us park near the back fence of the venue. Got our tickets, and had to take the dirt road behind the venue to get out...yeah it was great on my car that sits low to the ground....Went to our hotel, got ready, grabbed dinner, got to the show around 7:15 and all VIP lot were full. Ended up parking in the back of Lot B(the upper lot)..yeah it's great that they have hundreds of parking attendants to park you, but NO ONE to direct traffic out of the lots. When I finally came down the road out of Lot B, there was 3 'kid' parking attendants just standing there shooting the shit not doing anything...yeah I gave them a 'useless' shout!!! Then near the front of the gate, another 'kid' parking attendant was actual working picking up cones..I wanted to get out and give that kid a tip

I've been to 4 shows at this Venue(3 PJ, 1 Moby), and it's never been easy to get out..The last time I went I was able to get into the VIP lot in the front of the venue, and it was a breeze to get out.

If it wasn't for a two night high of PJ, I would have been pretty pist, but when you have an Enginer who probably didn't put much thought into that clusterf ck of a parking lot, it's par for the course

after reading previous posts which discussed Mansfield parking issues, i decided to park the car for free outside the venue grounds (sorry, won't say where until after Mansfield II) - timed the walk and it took us 15 minutes to get from the venue gates to the car after picking up the poster. we were on I-495 driving back to our hotel at 11:45pm :)

hope everything goes as smoothly tomorrow night,...

Where I parked I knew it was going to be a nightmare to get out. Ended up not enjoying the show for several reasons and decided to leave after the first encore set. It was a great decision.

Bingo - that is what happened to us. See my location. I think I am still there.

park vip - less than 1/2hour
  • I got out of the lot at 12:30 AM. I know it could have been much worse and at least I had a new boot of the Bonaroo show to listen to.

I haven't tried the off-site lots but the VIP premier lot was sold out when I arrived (~6 PM). If you really need to get out fast after the show, I would buy the premier parking ticket online through TM. It will cost ~$44 with ticketfast and fees. I know, ridiculous but I'm doing it!

Show was over at 11 p.m. I got out of the parking lot at 1:20 a.m. I'm still having nightmares from the experience. I actually took a nap and when I woke up almost an hour later not a single car had moved.
  • It took me 15 minutes...but I ran out of there as soon as Matt threw his sticks. I don't think most people realized that they were done. I was parked in the back corner and wasn't taking any chances of being struck there for 1-2 hours.
  • Took 2 hours to get out of the lot. Instead of waiting in line to get out, we just tailgaited after the show. It was the right move.

H E L L! Thank God we had beers on ice because it took us an hour and a half to even get moving. Ive been to hundreds of major events, sold out Eagles/Flyers/Sixers playoff games, 18 PJ shows and other concerts and I have never had a problem like this!
Small my table, seats just 3, its not crowded, its just lucky me

After the end of the past few shows I've seen at this HORRIFIC venue I haven't even started the car until either the police or the staff have come up to us and told us it's time to go. By that time you've got a pretty decent escape from Alcatraz... Don't forget your non-see-through drinking vessels tonight.

not many of them do this, but you could get lucky. I also suggest getting out and going north to the next entrance onto 95 (foxboro), the traffic is much better, if you are going north.

Very similar to me, I was also in lot 12, fortunately at the far end about 4 spots from the exit road, did my usual jog to the car (heck I can use the exercise), was in the car at 11:07 and out of the lot at 11:23.

It pays to be travelling solo and meeting up with your guest at the venue, cause when I go to shows with the wife, those short legs which are always clad in high heels (such is life in the 5' range I guess) just can't move as fast as I want them too, compounded many times by the "I need to go to the bathroom" situation.

I didn't even start the car for an hour and a half, then got out fairly quickly. I didn't mind, though, since it was still relatively early for a Saturday night.

    1. I was solo.
    2. Made a split second decision. To myself: "Premier parking? $40? Must be easier to get out."

Took me about 10 minutes to get out of the lot, after I got my poster. Really happy with my decision after reading this.
