I've had close encounters with moose. It's pretty scary actually. But despite the fear, I've found that they mostly just stand there staring at you like you're an idiot, while you blow your whistle and all this shit at them to try and drive them away, lol. But they can be very dangerous, so it's good to stay scared.

I was also very nearly maimed by an elk when I lived in Banff (they just wander around town there). It charged me and chased me and I barely escaped. It would have stomped me to death, likely. And this was in my own backyard at night, not out in the woods. Those things can be so scary. I saw one kill a dog (with idiot owners) at a campground once. :frowning:

I saw that this morning. How wild, just going about your day in the house doing whatnot, and boom! A FRIGGIN MOOSE.

One of my friends has had a bear visit her on occasion. He just hangs out on the grass and chills. He's cute, I must say.

Part and parcel of sharing the land with them, I think.

And them sharing the land with us.

PJ, fear can be crucial to survival.
  • My dad was attacked by a moose. He and his friend came across one snowmobiling.

Dad eventually retreated into the hollow of a tree and while the moose pursued him there... the moose eventually left him alone.

    Moose don't mess around.

Moose was also the subject of a brutal Vancouver poster a few shows back. Gawddamn terrible. Vancouver always gets the crap posters (although Ken Taylor's poster for the last show was pretty good despite popular opinion).

Consider your self lucky if you live in area that has those majestic animals ...

Here where I live, we have 1 national park and 1 provincial park and they both conduct deer culls every so often. Is there nowhere safe for our wild animals ... And now in some parts of Ontario they have reintroduced the spring bear hunt, if you call stuffing hallowed out trees with all kinds of sweets and sitting in a tree and killing a bear hunting.
