Before taking the stage with Sting, Vedder told the crowd why that particular Police song was chosen saying, “I think I read that we get more information in one day in modern times than people in the 1700’s used to get in a whole lifetime. So if you’re every feeling crazy or overwhelmed or insignificant or frustrated or beaten down, there’s a fucking reason. It’s impossible to keep up. There’s a lot of tragedy in the world; we just didn’t used to hear about all of it.”

This really resonates with me. I recently changed jobs, and also run a side IT business and my wife is currently unemployed. Sometimes I feel like the weight im carrying is just too heavy. It is good to hear things like that to encourage and give you strength. After reading all thiis MSG being not amazing BS, everyone needs to take a deep breathe, appreciate what we have in a band that actually cares about us and is able to identify with how we feel.
