Updated to El Capitan on macbook, pro can't connect to internet -FIXED NOW!!

Anyone able to help? Our ISP that we use here in Canada is bell sympatico.was working fine before installing el capitan. not sure if its an apple support question or iSP support issue. please and thanks. Not tech savvy.
PS it shows that safari is connected but will not allow us to surf the web.
FIXED!!!!! Was fixed remotely by a total pro, kind customer service rep at Bell Sympatico named Phil.Thanks to Phil!! Was a modem issue, not an Apple IOS issue.Apparently several connectivity, activation issues with this El Capitan system though according to on line comments.
