How was that secret show in Oslo in 1993? I talked to someone recently who was there and he said it was the best experience ever! I wish I was there but I was only 12 years old.....

Too right. I wanted that as an opener so much, and for him to sing it that way was amazing. So powerful. We have to get that bootleg!

I was hoping for "Release" but as soon as I heard the opening "D" guitar chord of Long Road I was blown away.
Never heard the song live before. Glad I did!!

He did sound amazing.. And considering he said he was having trouble with his voice in Poland, it's even more incredible!

It's from the Merkinball EP that they released around the same time they played on Neil Young's Mirrorball, it's the unofficial companion to it.

That was the best I've ever heard him sing. I noticed throughout the gig, he was singing with equal facility in different registers, without any strain or effort.
  • I heard the boot from madrid and made a thread about his voice. It's even better than last year, it's wicked!!

I totally agree, although Ed isn't famed for having an amazing upper register, he was putting in little high notes here and there that sounded awesome, and like you said, there was no force or strain.

not being rude, but can't you just Google for that?

go to Ebay and type "merkinball"

I thought his voice was sublime all through the show.. to go for Comatose so early showed he was in prime vocal condition
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

Not being rude, but I actually thought Pearl Jam fans would be able to lead me in the proper direction rather than relying on Google - maybe it was on an obscure release or something. Not all of us know every single inside bit of information on the band and the releases, but I am trying to find out as much as I can. I don't actually think I did anything wrong by asking.

Thanks to everyone who was helpful though. :)

Dude, I do that all the time, I ask something and then think; why didn't I just Google the dam thing!

But the vocals that night...flippin' eck! I REALLY NEED the boots of these shows! 10C!!!! WE NEED BOOTLEGS!!!

If they aren't released to download maybe there'll be some CD releases like they did with the Gorge shows. We can but beg and hope...
