The ending of black live

Im sure this has been asked, but when they jam to end of black on some live versions ed sings "we belong, we belong together" is that just random sutff he made up to the song or is it a different song?

I think it started at the pinkpop 92 show as just a improv. Then because that show is such a classic show that singing it these days gets a huge response..
