I got a little bored last night and was just thinking of an awesome concert that i wish would happen and i put together a group of bands that are currently still doing shows for the ultimate concert, and of course it would be headlined by Pearl Jam. Acts would include...Rusted Root, My Morning Jacket, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Sonic Youth, The Flaming Lips, David Gilmour, The Who, Bob Dylan, Radiohead, and Pearl Jam as the main headliner. I'm sure i could've added more great bands...but that would be good enough. How awesome would that be? And then the main point of the thread is the ultimate Pearl Jam set list....feel free to give some feedback on this one. It was real hard since i love every Pearl Jam song, but i think this is what it would look like, in order, if i knew i could only see them one more time.....
1. Long Road
2. Save You
3. Hail Hail
4. Severed Hand
5. Corduroy
6. Not For You
7. Brain Of J
8. Insignificance
9. Even Flow
10. Lukin
11. Whippin
12. Grievance
13. Why Go
14. Jeremy
15. 1/2 Full
16. Betterman
17. Daughter
18. I Got Shit
19. In Hiding
20. Rearviewmirror
Encore Break
21. Thumbing My Way
22. Man Of The Hour
23. Hard To Imagine
24. Present Tense
25. Inside Job
26. Black
Encore Break
27. Porch
28. Santan's Bed
29. Garden
30. Crazy Mary
Encore Break
31. Do The Evolution
32. Leash
33. Alive
34. Rockin' In The Free World
35. Yellow Ledbetter

I'd be interested to see what other peoples 'dream' set list would look like. I gave myself a maximum of 35 songs because i can't see them getting through anymore than that...this show would probably be close to 3 and a half hours, but we can all dream.

Good setlist, but i'd add Red Mosquito into the mix and i'd like to see Parting Ways finish an epic concert like the one you've drawn up

I am guessing that you haven't seen too many shows if your "ultimate setlist" eneds with RITFW/YLB?

That set list is pretty good, but it actually doesn't do much for me ...

yeah its not really that i have a lot of free time but i couldn't sleep last night and my mind was wondering. Anyway i've seen about ten shows and i've seen a number of different closers.....i just love when they close to rockin in the free world, that's my favorite cover of theirs. But to each is own.....and yellow ledbetter...come on, thats just a bonus, what else are they gonna play after rockin in the free world

not to change the subject of the thread, but just to elaborate on your comment a little more.....i could be misjudging your statement, but you seem like one of those people that thinks that if you enjoy hearing popular pearl jam material, or songs that are played a lot you are not a real fan. I can't stand when people are like that. Who cares if someone enjoys hearing songs like even flow and alive when they're at a show. Those songs change everytime they are played and they are jammed out like none of the other stuff. It's like when people say, ohh....you must not be a big fan, i bet ten is your favorite album. personally i listen to shows more than the albums, and ten is not my favorite (i really don't have a favorite) but who cares what people like. different songs affect people in different ways. it's all a matter of taste......and to the person who mentioned parting ways would've been a great closer for that set, i agree, that would also be pretty nice, just didn't make my final cut for some reason. That could be for night 2, which is another story.

You seem more than just a little defensive there ...

I'm not like that at all. I don't think I am a bigger fan that you jsut because I have seen more shows. There are a boat load of people around here who never want to ehar RITFW again ... same goes for YLB. If you still enjoy those songs - all the power to you.

I don't see any reason for you to post your ultimate setlist unless you were looking for opinions on it. I gave you mine. That's all.

okay, well like i said i may have misjudged your statement. it's all good and thanks for the opinion, but i'm sure you know what i meant though, there are a lot of people out there, apparently you're not one of them, who think that you're not a true fan unless you want to hear the most obscure material all the time.

newcastle was a pretty awesome setlist. i'm thinking maybe masters of war and crown of thorns should've made my setlist as well.

i have been a fan of pearl jam since the day i heard ' alive' on the radio in 1992 and have loved every album they have released since then. being from scotland we don't get to see them too often, but i was lucky enough to see them in arnhem and paris.
having been a 10 club member for the last couple of years i have read with interest various posts, and i do believe there are fans who think they are better than others because they have been members longer, or have been to more concerts, or travelled further to a concert.
i disagree, i am going to wembley to see them and will be standing. i just hope nobody moans at me for being closer to the band than they are because my membership number starts with a 3!

Everyone knows it's not about the number. I'm 380xxx, my mate's 403xxx or something, no one, no one, had more outwardly-visible fun than the two of us through the Aussie tour. Show your love, and it really doesn't matter if you're early 10c, late 10c or not 10c.

I think that many people misjudge the opinions of other around here ... most people in here aren't like that.

So how about this setlist - would you not die if you were at a show like this:

Main Set: Sometimes, Breakerfall, Last Exit, Life Wasted, Alone, Alive, Once, Footsteps, Parachutes, In Hiding, Given To Fly, Not For You, Sad, Deep, Severed Hand, God's Dice, Red Mosquito, Animal, State of Love and Trust

Encore 1: Of The Girl, All Those Yesterdays, All or None, Satan's Bed, Rats, Breath, Parting Ways
Encore 2: Can't Keep, Wash, No Way, Faithful, Leash, Brain of J, Half Full, Immortality

yeah i would be pleased with that, sounds like a good show....i like no way on there, since i've only heard of them playing that live one time and it's a great song. i'd need to hear black though just because it's my favorite song. it's an interesting set list you made up though, it would be a little different to hear those songs in order like that. lukin, grievance, and save you are some of my favorites to hear live as well. i think if you added those three songs along with black that would be a pretty stellar set list.
