Prague from the 06 tour was pretty awesome, if only because they played Dead Man, Man of the Hour, Nothingman, Leatherman AND Betterman onsecutively. It may not have the atmosphere of the Reading or Dublin shows, but musically - spot on!

Superb list, although I'd add two more; Chicago '95 (Soldier Field), and Milan 2000.

  • Actually, so far there's been some pretty good ones mentioned.

I'm not educated enough on pre-2000 shows to properly comment, and some very noteworthy ones have already been mentioned so....

2000: [sort of starting with the better ones] Katowice II, St. Louis, Jones Beach III, Tampa, Chicago, Verona, Prague, Seattle II, Cardiff, San Diego, London II, Columbus, Philly I, Boise, Milan, Seattle I (hugely overlooked in my humble opinion), East Troy, Toronto, Jones Beach II, Pittsburgh.

2003: Buffalo, Irvine I, Missoula, Boston I and III, Lexington, Osaka, Sendai, Sydney II, Perth, Noblesville. For me, second tier, Uniondale, MSG II (not mentioning I 'cause everyone knows about it, and it's good, but there were better shows from that tour I think), Tokyo, Adelaide, Vancouver, Kansas City, Columbus, Holmdel, Mexico City I and III, State College, Philly, and Mt. View.

2005: Ottawa, Calgary, Philly. Otherwise London, Kitchener, Halifax, Winnipeg, A.C. II, and Gorge (a bit shakey at times, but good atmosphere and a long performance). Also B.A. I.

2006: Grand Rapids, San Diego, Portland, Gorge I, Reading, Pistoia, Prague, Adelaide I. Second tier: Toronto II, Boston (II I think), Washington D.C., Gorge II, Torino, Honolulu.
    05/30/03 Van, 09/01/05 Gorge, 09/02/05 Van, 09/04/05 Cal, 09/05/05 Ed, 09/07/05 S'toon, 09/08/05 'Peg, 07/22&23/06 Gorge, 06/14/08 'Roo, 08/08/09 Cal, 09/21/11 Cal, 09/23/11 Ed, 12/02/13 Cal
  • Does anybody know of more good '98 shows?

Sacramento is a great show IMO because Ed is really pissed off for at least half of the show because the crowd booed the opening band. Maybe it's more enjoyable as something to watch as opposed to just listening though.

93 - Slane Castle, Ireland, with Niel Young, I was only 13 and it was my first concert ever. For half the show I was convinced I was going to die, the pit was something I have never seen before or since, awesome looking back at it.

96 at the point in Dublin - opened with Release, enough said, ferocious night, top of thier game, right up the front (im talking barrier), about ready to pass out with the heat and Eddie says "I'm going to give this guy some water", bends over and hands me a bottle of water - what the fuck - best moment of my life

00 - Point, Dublin - great night, and ofcourse the stage dive

06 - Point, Dublin - Irish crowds (european for that matter) kick ass over our brothers and sisters across the water.

and yet to come 07 - Wembley - yeah baby

I notice Ottawa 2005 getting lots of props. I went to Ottawa and Montreal in 2005. Although Ottawa had some rare tunes played (wash opener, rats) Montreal was dedicated to Joey Ramone and quite simply; it fucking rocked. Was a real hard set and Ed played "Trouble". One of the best shows I've ever been to.
