So, does Beyonce cancel her Raleigh show in 2 weeks?

I just realized Beyonce has a HUGE concert at the football stadium in Raleigh on May 3rd, 2 short weeks from now.

I know she has nothing to do with Pearl Jam, but I hope she cancels, as I think she is a MUCH bigger name and face in the current times than Bruce and PJ put together. Her cancelling would likely be the final domino in this whole thing.

Thoughts? I think she will cancel, as just 7 months ago, she took the stage with Eddie at a Concert that essentially fought for human rights.

Haha, trust me I would never go see her and do not like her music one bit, but there's no denying shes probably at the top of the music world in terms of recognition, and her cancelling would scream much much louder than anything yet

I am aware that happened. I meant that to avoid being flamed by people wondering why I care about Beyoncé on a pearl jam message board

I get the feeling that some stars "give back" only when it's convenient and widely accepted. Like you'll see Beyonce or f'ing Bono for that matter at a Charity gig, but you won't see them take what could be an unpopular stance w/backlash (such as a boycott). These people build up the cult of their image for years, and that image is so valuable, I don't think she'd risk it. Bey hey, if she does, I will definitely respect her more.

Based on the size of the stadium and comparing it to what she grossed is sales from her last tour, she would be making approx. $6M gross for the Raleigh show

I'm certainly not an expert on her or anything, but I've always been totally confused by her activism, I mean her biggest thing is feminism, yet she's married to a guys who's most famous lyric is "I got 99 problems but a bitch ain't one". There very well be more to his and her story that I'm not aware of but it defiantly comes off as fraud to me.

No fraud because Beyoncé and Jay Z are taking the word "bitch" back and giving it empowerment and positivity....or at least that's what we're told

Eddie also wrote Satan's Bed and then married and started a family with a super model. People change.
  • I hope she does. My gut says she doesn't. Especially if there really is $6,000,000 on the table for her (See post above...)

It all depends what Clooney & Co have planned. They may allow her to go on with her show. Social justice is a chess game.

This is a law that will be overturned by the courts. Beyoncé, PJ, Bruce won't have anything to do with it. Why shouldn't she play?
This show, another show, a show here and a show there.
