Jazzfest and getting on the rail

Going to jazz fest this weekend and wondering if any veterans to this particular festival have tips on getting up front. Recommended arrival times, tips on getting to the restroom or grab a drink without losing your spot.. etc. Anything

I would assume PJ will have city specific merch/posters at the main merch booth in the middle (the one i already talked about.) Your best bet may be to run straight to the merch booth, then to the stage (and yes, i do mean RUN) but if the merch line is too long you will probably be screwed. And yeah it sucks about the VIP part. Not much we as fans can do though.

I've never been to Jazz Fest but at ACL they have a chair area and non chair areas at each stage.
