Florida final stats

The numbers from the Florida run are staggering. 126 total songs over 4 nights, average of 32 songs/show. Four different openers, four different closers. Of the 126, they played 84(!) unique songs, meaning on average over four concerts there were only 10 repeats from one show to the next -- and that's in a 32-song set. 60 songs were played only one time. Only 6 songs were played at all four shows (Alive, Even Flow, Porch, Corduroy, DTE, MYM).

That is why you tour with this band. Anyone know of any other band with that kind of catalogue diversity on a tour?

Only Phish. But yeah the Florida tour was unbelievable. The highpoint for me was Tampa. Casually busting out Help Help, WMA, In the Moonlight, and Rival on this run. All the setlists were solid. But the crowd needs to pick it up for sure.

The casual fans don't know what the hell is going on. On one of the Perscope feeds last night you could here a couple guys say several times."I don't know any of these songs". My guess is they lost their minds on Jeremy lol.

It is pretty staggering. Looks like anything goes this tour. I love that they just keep changing up their setlist "format" constantly. Cant wait for Lexington and then Wrigley at the end of summer!

The variety of songs is amazing. How in the heck do they remember how to play half of these songs? You would think they have been rehearsing for 6 months! I'm blown away.

Great interview with mccready one time. He said "we have a catalog of 200+ songs so with an always changing setlist you have to be ready" that's dedication from the whole band to there craft.

I'm not a fan of rival, ghost, hard to imagine or thumbing my way either. I've tried but my mind isn't there yet.

That being said I LOVE when people get excited for them.

Glorified G was a sweet surprise.

I am also a huge fan of the Drive By Truckers, who tour without a set, switching song choices between the two main singer/songwriter/guitarists. They play songs from their entire 10-album discography, and break out rarities, covers, etc. That said, nothing beats the energy of a Pearl Jam show.
37 PJ Shows, 3 EV Shows, 1134 Total Songs, 24 Different Openers, 9 Different Closers, 252 Unique Songs (never enough)
  • I have tried to explain this to people who question why you would see a band for multiple shows back to back. They don't get that each show is a total different animal. I missed the JAX show but made it to the other 3 in FL and each had specific highlights that make it hard to compare them equally.

You can clearly see Eddie using a teleprompter to remember some of the lyrics during Ghost. And with as many songs as they have in their catalog who could blame him!

Made first 3 outta 4 shows... no complaints here. We got Ghost in Denver, so no regrets there... Happy for the Greek.

    Surprised by no Oceans
  • I really love how they've been so incredible these first 4. What really strikes me is they're attentiveness to the fans. I know Jeff has mentioned in interviews how the fans are like fans of the dead and they appreciate rarities and expect special stuff from the band.... So cool. Seems they are doing the best job ever this tour of trying to accommodate requests- I don't remember if they've really ever been so accommodating to fan signs and requests like they have so far this tour. Thanks pj, you guys are so incredible!!
I'm like an opening band for your mom.
