The last song of the night seemed to come purely from Mike's desire to play one more song. The show was 'over' and the band was getting ready to walk off stage, but he asked for another guitar. He mouthed something to Jeff, who looked confused, and then played the first few notes of Yellow Ledbetter while looking at Matt. I'm pretty sure Matt nodded 'no' (maybe specifically to YL?) - so then Mike paused for a beat and started playing Little Wing instead. The other guys all got their instruments and joined in. Definitely one of the stranger endings I've seen.
To clarify my post about crowd being lame, I don't mean the pit. They were Rockin out.
The thing is, when you're in the pit you don't notice the rest of the crowd. Just as you don't notice Ed going behind the stage waving his arms trying to get their energy up. Then to the wings.
I'm sure you noticed him grabbing his notebook and walking off the stage before Blood was even done without even waving to the crowd or anything.
Same with destroying his guitar after Betterman, then getting up on amp and yelling "come on you fuckers" when Sonic Reducer started.
Set list was great. Band was great. Crowd wasn't. Certainly not the band's fault.

I may be wrong, but I think them leaving the stage in a hurry had more to do with them being well past curfew and not he crowd (which was rocking)
Wish I was at this one. Wow! Great looking setlist. They have really started this tour off with a TON of variety. I can't believe anyone is complaining about "set killers" or not enough deep cuts. All three of the shows look pretty awesome on paper.

Stone handed his guitar to his tech and was already off the stage. It was definitely Mike's idea to do one last unplanned song.....and the crowd loved it.

Do you know if a video of Little Wing exists anywhere?

You can always count on MFC. It's not HD yet because it takes YT a while to process that. Blu Ray is definitely coming for this show. There is enough footage.

I wasn't there, but do you think perhaps he was frustrated about something else? Like maybe the sound not being right which Ive heard lots of comments on?
It would seem a bit silly to me to think Ed would throw a hissy fit over the crowd not being into it enough. The man is a professional and has been doing this a long time. Whining about people not rocking out hard enough is something I only hear about on this message board. Everybody has their own way of enjoying the experience.

EV seemed to be having a lot of fun to me. Even right before smashing the guitar. I think he's just a rock star and the crowd would eat it up.
