I don't know, but it is between those 3

I was at London and Dusseldorf, and I am having a hard time deciding which one I liked the best!

Between London & Copenhagen... Copenhagen by a MILE! For me that is.

I think we're gonna get a lot of different answers to this one... :)
    The Astoria??? Orgazmic!
    Verona??? it's all surmountable
Dublin 23.08.06 "The beauty of Ireland, right there!"
    Wembley? We all believe!

Well, I was only at London, so obviously, due to my presence, that was the most awesome one ever.
Seriously though, Of the 3 PJ concerts I've been to, Wembley was defo the best.

having been to all the non festival shows except Nijmegen, I would say that Dusseldorf was easily the best show of the tour.

I've seen a lot of shows and this was up there with the best.....

London had an amazing "fan" focused main set, Copenhagen was extremely emotional, Munich was great fun with a great crowd.....but Dusseldorf had everything

For me personally, it was Wembley (of the ones I was at, that is).

From shows I haven't seen, I'd say Dusseldorf.

    Ohhhh I don't know! haha.
I enjoyed each of them in different ways.
I think I'll go with Dusseldorf.

Although I did get a setlist off Mike in Copenhagen which made my night.
    It was a close call.

Out of those three, Dusseldorf comes first, then London, then Copenhagen.

But i think Nijmegen tops them all for sheer emotion and power.

copy/paste of my answer to basically the same question at RM (apart from the bloody stupid limit on smilies!):

ok, I'll comment 1 by 1, my impressions as being there, means little for the boots:

Lisbon: greatest hits festival type, but we and they were so happy to see each other again, and the Portuguese are such a great (whilst still friendly) crowd that it was a damn good show. (and the 2 parties beforehand made for a bloody damn good week..I'm in love with Portugal so anytime PJ plays there, I'll be there!)

Madrid: mmm, not a fan of Spanish crowds (too unfriendly, along with Italians, Parisians..and now Polish..will avoid Pits in those places from now on), only show I didn't make it to the barrier (stuck in 2nd row Stone side). setlist ok for a festival. nightmare to get back from the gig after (and at least we made it, many got stuck all night there)

Munich: first proper show, first of the "2007 Greats" as I believe they'll be know in the future. fucked up 10c line, apprehension about the security, but everything turned out fine and a damn good setlist supported by a good crowd. Was completely worked up after it! though retrospectively, got overshadowed by what followed. Nice piss up the night before at Wombats too when everyone joined the Tour :p

Katowice: Worse gig of the tour for me. some very interesting thing in an all too short setlist (I don't think it was an impro before Daughter..work in progress more like), but was too busy surviving the hell that was the pit to really enjoy it..I was both relieved and annoyed they finished so early...even more annoyed when I heard that apparently the early finish had nothing to do with curfew but with them wanting to spend the following day off in Italy . Bus trip from Munich to Kato was great fun on the other hand .. home-made PJ karaoke with Hinn on drums ..can't top that!

Venice: ok, I know they didn't play. But we'd been in front of the stage all day. had a blast: the night before, with everyone that was on the plane from Krakow-Venice going for a meal, great time warming up, preparing signs, making fools of ourselves during the opening bands...real shame this didn't happen because I think it would have been a great experience for us, regardless of what they'd might have played. we still managed to have a great time going out for dinner instead all together. Still one of the best time of the Tour..strange innit?

Nova Rock (was 100km+ from Vienna, near Hungarian & Slovenian border, village called Nicklesdorf). Very short show (shortest?), crowd not particularly into it (and the Linkin Park fans beforehand a right pain). Light Years nice, but apart from that.. (plus was worried I wasn't going to be able to get back to London having lost my ID...I'm travelling 10000kms to see them and cannot go to the fan club gig 8 miles from my house ?!?).

London: Great great show..though for a 10c show (in effect), I was expecting slightly more from both the setlist and the crowd; but it's just having put so high expectations on this show, my home show to boot!
Long Road was awesome moment...We were all so sure they'd break Love Reign 'ver Me there...but when we got to WWS, I knew RITFW had to be coming and therefore no LR'M. All in all, great show, great time, spending the whole day saying hello to almost every single PJ fans I've ever knew (think only 5 were missing), at home. And the organisation at Wembley made me very proud to be a Londoner: wish every show was like that (apart from the 1 queue entering before the other bit).

Dusseldorf: Might not be anything special about that city, but we had a good time the night before eating out and drinking. We were worried about the 2 opening acts taking so much time, and thought there was a 11pm curfew so really couldn't wait for Interpol to f**k off stage (found them monotonous anyway). But the second Ed slammed that projector by his side, we knew it was going to be a good night..he was in 'that' mood :D.. What can I say, great atmosphere, just with the main Set thought it was a fantastic night.. then the first encore, nice touch...but when Ed started running around to the others, visibly asking for a change..I just didn't dare hope (and someone had texted me they'd soundchecked it..but I have still to find anyone who heard it on that day..and the way Ed asked and they responded didn't fit with a song they'd have soundchecked the very same day..I don't know, anyway I know it wasn't on the setlist as a friend got one). So yeah, I'm obviously biased on this show..but I really already thought it was fantastic, better than London, before Rats. honest.

Southside: took ages to get down there the day before, and when we did, got really worried seeing the state of the front of the other stage (mudbath). turned out fine since the rain stopped and the cold wind dried up everything quick (bloody cold though! I had 6 layers on in the pit all day but right after PJ started.. still kept 3 layers on for them..unheard of!). Set was ok, nice to get Glorified G that my Rats had kicked of the dusseldorf setlist but I had yet to hear. But the crowd was lame. Very few hard fans, mostly knew Ten only, even right at the front...no-one seemed to know the Modern Girl tag (all the Touring Fans had skipped Southside, so I was there with just 1 other)...Had fun though, enjoyed listening to the classic again after London-Dusseldorf fanfest, really hard going set too.

Hurricane: rejoined the touring fans, much more international, and PJ-fans crowd. good setlist, Throw your Hatred Down a nice first for me and several not so played this tour songs. Had a blast with my friends around.

Copenhagen: again, one I had build lots of expectations on, turned out Great but slightly less than anticipated. We got SOOO excited hearing Love Reign 'ver Me soundchecked and knew when they did it twice that they'd break it that night (we made sure we cheered loudly to make they understand we wanted it). Ed completely fucked up Love Boat Captain. Hard to Imagine! quite emotional speech about Roskilde (Jeff, Stone and Ed were getting very emotional I could tell), but not everyone in the crowd was that mindful of the history considering how they acted (not very rough but some individual fuckheads that really should have known better under the circumstances..and it was damn hot too, like London I'd say). Crowd was a bit disappointing...but great moment when Ida got pulled on stage (ok, we were all a little bit jealous..but she's a sweet girl..and she was still crying 6 hours later bless her :o !)

Nijmegen: I'll pass on the '50 Israelis' joke.. shit weather to start with but as we arrived (very early) the security gave us some coffee and ponchos! nearest shops were a mile away so spend a lot of time going about. Separate front area was nice, and meant that despite a festival-type show, it was the most room I'd EVER had at any PJ show. could fully dance front row centre! opening acts: I'd seen Satellite Party at Southside, and though I like the music, the contrived stage antics and presence of the porn star on stage under the pretence of 'backing vocals' annoyed the hell out of me! Enjoyed KOL much better this time than at Southside/Hurricane..probably helped by my neighbour Fleur going mental. Incubus I simply found dull.
Set was quite festival-type, with highlights being a perfectly executed Wishlist , Nothingman, great Daughter tags (hilarous W.M.A., warat last!). getting slightly fed up with No War..I mean I like the song but would have been nice to get Soon Forget or another Man of The Hour instead once in a while that tour. Nice show all in all.

Werchter: Again took us too long to get there, then faffed around so we were still setting up the tent when Ed joined KOL! I missed 1 song this tour!!! ..seen it the day before so not sooo bad I guess. took us most of the day to work our way to the front, enjoying QOTSA and Artic Monkeys along the way (Bloc Party don't do it for me and we were still too deep in the crowd to enjoy Kaiser Chiefs anyway). Josh Homme pill joke then him showing up for the 2 lines in Baba was fun, Brain of J again, God's Dice, and most of all  ..we were screaming like schoolgirls when Jeff got his hands on that guitar ..many had been waiting the whole tour for it (and many were not there to hear it ;(). Exact same speech than the day before for No More got me a bit annoyed, but then I still can't help getting into it when it starts . Really wanted YL for closure though.

so order for me, of being there:
Dusseldorf, London, Copenhagen/Munich, Hurricane, Lisbon, Nijmegen, Werchter/Southside, Nova Rock/Madrid/Katowice

if you were not there, then it probably would go, based on setlist and crowd levels:
Dusseldorf/London, Copenhagen, Munich, Katowice, Nijmegen, Hurricane, Werchter, Southside/Lisbon/Nova Rock/Madrid

London was my top of the three. Awesome atmosphere, and loads of great songs. London and Dusseldorf were fairly even for me, they had the same great atmosphere but London got slightly more slower songs and Dusseldorf got slightly more rocky songs. I loved the setlist for London slightly more so that's why it's top, but to be honest my mind keeps leapfrogging when I remember Dusseldorf got Breath and Rats.

Copenhagen was emotional, but the crowd around me absolutely blew. Loads of ignorant 10cs pushing and shoving, got really brutal near the end (for most the 1st encore there was someone shouting at somebody) so that put a real dampener on things. I want to say Copenhagen was one of the best... but I can't.

Yeah, I was behind you to the right a bit.

It wasn't just that guy, it was a good 3 or 4. I think the problem was people were pushing to get to the front and force my friends out (the area was full of short girls so they obviously thought it was the easiest way to get in). Each person wasn't around for that long (maybe 10-15 minutes at the most) but each time they were replaced by another idiot. So by the time that moron came in my friends were ready to bite someone's head off.

I can't say anything against the security. They did their job; they can't pull people out just because someone else made an allegation. In the end the guy was pulled out because he volunteered to get out which is fair enough. I don't see what more security can do. It was a nuisance the people weren't pulled out earlier but these kind of things are hard to see from outside the crowd and hard for the crowd to prove.

Anyway... that's the last time I'll mention it. Hopefully I'll forget the bad bits as time goes on :)

4 shows for me, should have been 5, but there was the venice incident...

Katowice: good night before the show in krakow. went to the irish pub to see if i could find jammers, and i did. had a drink with suppervedder and his wife, before we moved along to find mole1985, lots of polish beer consumed, before getting up early to go to katowice. Once there it was hours of waiting around for the munich bus to turn up, my ticket was on the bus and they made it eventually. I was pushed out of the queue just before running through the tunnel into the stadium, probably cost me front row, but i got 2nd row. Support bands were pretty crap, the best one was the band who won the compition to play there, coma were terrible, and linkin park, we all know about them. i was pushed back in the crowd and was stuck in the middle of shit linkin park fans, so i moved back and had some room before making it back to 3rd row by the end of linkin park, i lasted 2 songs there, one of the worst pits i have been in, and being so de-hydrated and with no energy, i moved back again and enjoyed the show. A few surprises in the set, leatherman, and indifference closing. Short set, bad crowd, and what made it worse was the songs that were left off the setlist, release, alone, cropduster, ghost and baba i think.

Venice: Sandra has said it all, great bunch of people, great dinner the night before, 25 of us i think. Next morning 3 of us went out early, but got stuck at the wrong gate, and spent 2 hours waiting to get accross this stupid bridge and gate system. it cost us entry into the front bit. Made some fake wristbands to get us down there, but viviflu was the only one to get in. Aija and i were lefto outside, but some nice italians bought us beer, just before the storm hit. Pretty scary experience when that hit, and Aija and i were about 5 metres away from one of the towers when it fell, thankfully we met everyone very quickly, and then had another great dinner, and fun night. Third day was jammer sight seeing day, and then getting drunk at the astoria pub, sorry to 1vedhead and the others we left behind when they went on the gondola ride, the pub was too much fun.
No show, but a fantastic time was had by all. One of my highlights of the tour, even without the show.

London: Waxys was great fun, so many jammers filling up the pub, then the fun lineup the next day, only issue was the portugese all pushing into the line, in the end i was infront of them anyway, 2nd/3rd row right in front of mike. Amazing show, long road opener was fantastic, and they kept on playing some amazing songs. 10 of the 27 songs that were played, i had not seen in 5 previous shows. For me this was the highlight of the tour.

Nijmegen: great day, fun line up with the 10c. Thanks to Angelo from chigago for the 10c ticket, i owe you one. 2nd row mikes side, great crowd, good supports, Incubus and KOL were great, but perry farrel and the porn star took away from sattelite party a bit. release opener, leash, eds smile improv with the balloons at the encore. fun night with a great crowd.

Werchter: met up with alot of jammers, good fun, a few beers before working out way down during Queens. We were probably less than 10 rows from the front by the monkeys, but it was way to pushy squashy and any other word that you can think of to describe that crowd. Orsi and i decided to move out and go back, good move or bad move? well we were a fair way back but we had a huge amout of room around us, and just rocked out the whole show. everyone moved back a little after go. I went crazy as ed announced jeff ament on guitar, been waiting all tour for that! Had a huge amount of fun at this show.

For me it was London, Nigmegen/Werchter (can't split them) Venice and then Katowice.

  • London for me. Not only because it was a hometown show, but for the 48 hours or so that surrounded it.. Farringdon-Waxy's-Globe-Green Man-Queue-GIG-tube-etc. It was more of an experience on the whole. Not to mention a superb setlist. Sure, I'dhave loved to hear Sometimes or Rats, but I'm happy I got Faithfull, Immortality, Long Road and I Got Shit in the same set.

    I'd order them as follows:

    1.London
    2.Werchter
    3.Nijmegen
    4.Madrid
