Ugh. And he wore a #99 New York Rangers jersey a few days ago. Neither of these things gives me any reason to like him.
  • that doesn't mean shit.
in the most f'ed up way he dressed up like Kurt Cobain w/ a acoustic reminiscent of Unplugged at one of his shows...why kids or anyone else would listen to him is beyond me...

His whole style for this tour is metal/alternative. He had a famous metal designer make his merch and he regularly wears PJ, Marilyn Manson, Nirvana, etc. shirts on stage. It's just fashion.

I'm only 35 and I'm Canadian, so I'm (relatively young) and you'd think I'd have love for my fellow compatriot, BUT ...and this is where I believe you have have been fleeced (so while you post came from a good spot, I wonder whether you may consider your take with this information)...

Justin Bieber is currently on tour wearing rock shirts shirts "repurposed" by a "designer" called Jerry Lorenzo and his "fear of god collection". Mr. Lorenzo takes old concert shirts, cuts them up, and then resells them to people like Biebs that have more money than brains for $1500+! I

So far, over the past few weeks, I've seen photos of Biebs wearing such Nirvana Shirts, Metallica shirts, and now PJ shirts. Yes these are basically the same stickman shirts we've all bought at one time for like $20. He just has paid $1000+ for his.

It baffles me that Lorenzo can call himself an "artist". My 5 year old niece could make shirts like this with my bag of old concert shirts and a pair of scissors.

In my mind, criticizing the appalling waste of money is not "being old, closed minded, etc..." it's just being disgusted by the fact that in a world where there are humans living in poverty, under discrimination, inequality and violence towards women, people without access to food/water, etc (you know causes that would be much better served if that money was to go to Charity), it is sick to spend $1000's of dollars on t-shirts.

I would totally respect him if he was giving back to the world. Perhaps in his future he will, as he's still very young.

How are those comparable? Did Eddie pay twice the asking price of the home so that it came with a mango tree pruned into a shape of himself? If so, then I agree with you.

Btw, I'm not saying you should hate anyone. Having the freedom to like whatever you fancy is one of the best things about living. My point was only that he doesn't seem to have any real affinity for Pearl Jam or any of the bands shirts he's wearing, It's just a gimmick, a style, and on his next tour, he'll have a whole different set of costumes.

He should start being a real musician. He's actually pretty talented. He plays a variety of instruments very well and can sing. If he'd shake off the handlers and the entourage, the techs and the auto tune, and formed a rock band instead of making canned music for the masses and spending half his time on stupid dance routines for the stage, he might actually be able to do something good.

I'm basing it upon past history. Ie: different gimmicks for different tours, multiple wardrobe changes, all of that. It's what sells. It's what the pop fans want. Op's point seemed to be that Bieber likes Pearl Jam, my counter was to show that he is wearing a specific line from a designer. Interpret that how you'd like.
