    List of my favorite things on the second-from-the-top bookshelf in our living room:

    - Mini Beatles Yellow Submarine thermos
    - Piggy bank I've had since I was five; that fucker is full of coins and heavy
    - Electric votive "candles" that amuse me to no end both in concept and in how long they last
    - Book called All My Friends Are Dead :)
    - Various buttons and a Kinder Egg toy (more :) )
    - Gran Torino lunchbox

    In speaking with my mom yesterday evening, realized the past few and forward days are milestones, the list of which are...

    - Nine years at my current job (knock wood it continues; for all its shit, I love it)
    - One year since getting my FR-S
    - Five years since my beloved MIL passed. We only met in person once, but oh how she was my rock through rough times...she shouldn't have had to suffer so long before peace guided her away from pain.
    - Fourteen years since my sweetheart drove cross-country for his LA woman (again, knock wood it continues; for all its shit, I love it...and him =) )
