Security too high in Sydney

Hi all,

I was at the Wednesday gig last week. Eddie made a comment about it not being a Sunday morning and how the crowd should liven up. Also said perhaps the security was too high. I have to say that I felt the security were too tight - it is a rock concert after all! It jsus seemed that security were waiting to berate someone for doing something wrong. All the same, I thought the gig was brilliant and that although it was hard to jump around with the seats in the way PJ pulled it off brilliantly. I was at the Pumpkins last gig in Dublin which was fully seated and in a venue of about 500 people. I thought they failed to pull it off. The crowd never got going and I left disappointed.

PJ pulled it off brilliantly. I intend on going to Saturday's gig and I hope for the fans sake the security can relax a bit. I saw a guy chucked out for dancing in the gangway beside his seat. But the seat is in the way if you want to jump around (just jumping up and down). I hope someone involved in setting up the venue reads this and has a word to the security. Otherwise - PJ you totally rock!! I'm off to U2 tonight and although I'm Irish, I know I'm going to be disappointed by them after seeing PJ last week. Also, guys thank you for doing A Sort Of Homecoming. I love that album and I love that song. Thought it was a really nice touch.

Cheers

Rob

So you had seats in the floor ground??? That should be banned...

Agreed. I'm a 5'5" gal and was in row 14 on the floor and couldn't see the stage at all for most of the night because of a group of very tall guys in front then was restricted by the rows of seats so couldn't move from my spot to get a better view ..

Seats are only useful in cinemas. Seats do not belong at a rock concert. Fuck that!
  • Europe is different in that matter - I saw only two shows ever (of about 100) with seats - one was Springsteen on the Tom Joad Tour (could live with that) - the other was Melissa Etheridge - worked only for half a song - then everybody not only stood up but also went in the ailes to get nearer to the stage.

At least when you go to a cinema the seats slope upwards. The floor seats at the Sydney venue were all on the same level and it was just hopeless trying to see anything if you weren't at least 5'10.
