How can you not?

So i've been reading a lot of comments about how some fans can't stand others singing at live shows. My question is,is how can you not sing? Most of the time i'm so into the music i'm not even aware that i'm singing. It's simply uncontrollable for some people. I realize everybody doesn't have the greatest voice, but it's not like Ed's selecting a random fan from the crowd to help him sing a duet, and they butcher the song. When i see and hear my fellow fans sing, i just think that they are enjoying themselves and the band they've come to see. So if you get annoyed with this, maybe just stay at home the next tour.

I usually always apologize to the people around me before the shows starts, i warn them that I will sing a long to most songs. So far no one has ever had an issue with it. Maybe i don't sound as bad as I thought...or they just can't hear me. Ha!

I remember my first show in 98, I was in 7th grade. My friends parents took us and I knew nothing about PJ. After the first 5 songs I understood what it was all about and fell in love. Point being, the whole time the ENTIRE crowd sang along to every song and it was amazing. F people if they don't want to hear you singing, it's a PJ concert. Just my 2 cents.
  • pfft... Sing your heart out! One of my favorite things about listening to boots, is hearing the crowd behind Eddie! I can feel the magic... And I know, that no one will ever shut me up. =) Enjoy the show, whatever that means for you.

    Communal singalongs = great.

The only person singing along when the rest of the nearby crowd is listening intently, yeah that can be annoying. Also, don't sing like you think Eddie can hear you from row xyz; he can't. Adjust yer levels ;)

There is a way to do it and a way not to.

You can sing and still no be annoying. Sometimes friends sing directly into my ear and I'm not a happy camper.

Especially with Ed encourage us to sign along. What? We're gonna say, "Bug off Ed"? No, we gonna sing! I will say though, it's nice to have some of those long extended rearviewmirror type jams to just groove with the band w/o singing.

I think it depends where you are. In the pit everyone sings and you can't even hear other people for the most part. In the rafters it's a different story, crowd is more subdued and it's not as loud.

At the Buffalo show the people got up and left that were behind me after awhile… They were dressed up and ready to impress, not ready for a concert, let alone a PJ show. I wouldn't sit down for them, I didn't drive from the Pitt show to see PJ the next day in Buffalo just to say I was there. I traveled to see the band I love.. Just as you paid for a ticket, so did I. It's live music, your body and emotions should have some reaction to it I would think…..
