Anybody who wants the Ken Taylor Columbia poster, do it now before its gone. Great poster in person, colors are great.
Surprised it's still available. Everybody's been saying how good this one looks in person, that pictures don't do it justice. I believe them, grabbed one!
Colors jump out in person, pictures don't do it justice, just buy it.
SO, where do I get a reasonably priced frame at???? Are there good online places or do most of you do local??
I go to Hobby Lobby, they have a great framing department and will work to make your poster framing ideas a reality.
I would go to Michaels. You'll spend a bit more but they won't ruin you poster. Hobby Lobby uses glue and adhesive. I could one day, if I wanted to, pull all of my posters out of their Michaels frames and have them in original condition. I know from experience you can't with Hobby Lobby.
I always use Hobby Lobby and have never had anyone use glue. Very good work and have switched out multiple frame jobs.
+1 - use hobby lobby too - make sure to talk to the people when ordering - say do not dry mount my prints - or I will f#ck your shit up!!! Just kidding - but not really

I go to Michael's for my framing, but only when they have at least 70% off. I do not go all fancy with the matting and stuff. I go with the cheapest metal black frame, all their custom framing comes with acid free backing and UV resistant glass.
Just yesterday I dropped off Cincy 2014, Greenville 2016, Lexington AP Moonshine and the bonus print. To have all 4 professionally framed was $330.
A few weeks back during the 70% off sale I have the 3 PJ20 posters (Hampton,Klausen and Ames) framed at Michael's and it was like $250 or $270. They did a great job.
Currently running the 70% off this week, but they run it often. I just watch their website for when they have the special deal.

Great prices... I use michaels as well... I typically keep it simple as well with no matting, etc... but I do like to pick a good frame for the print... I think picking the right frame and then letting the artwork do the rest of the talking is the way to go...
My frames usually run $200 - $350 depending on matts and witch frame I pick. Pricy, but totally worth it. Built a great relationship with my framer, she runs a little shop in here in Toronto, and will sometimes throw in uv protective glass or free matting if I do multiple colours.

brought my MSG I into a 'pro' framer and it will be about $300.
Usually I take my best looking prints into a indy framer because they do the best job
The next tier goes to Michaels. Still pricey, a little less. Still looks good.
Then... for simple prints or ones I particularly dont care too much about but want to frame... Ill do with American Frame.
You just wont get that 'pop' and pro-look you get with the shops/michaels. Mat colors wont match quite as perfectly, etc. Effects arent really an option, etc.
I do my own framing, too. I buy my supplies at Aaron Bros. (I live in California - not sure if they are in other states). They have periodic "buy one frame/get another for one cent" sales and also 50% off coupons from their website (I bought the same mat cutter you show for $50.with a coupon). I don't use any kind of tape to attach my poster to the backing board though - I use the clear "corners" that you stick to the backing then slip each corner of the poster into. It's very satisfying to hang a poster on your wall that you just framed yourself (and saved a ton of money on - it costs me about $60. in materials to do an average 18" x 24" poster).

Like you said, for my less pricy prints.
