2 of 3 the times i've been there i went a bit off the beaten path and went to mandinas for the turtle soup. cabs run up and down canal all the time or walk it from bourbon
all the food is good there and large portions. usually a line up but it moves quick=sit at the bar for a drink
    http://mandinasrestaurant.com/nola/main-menu/
the court of 3 sisters is real nice for sunday brunch-in the quarter
and oceana grill also in the quarter is great+ and it wont cost buckets of cash
but like i said b4 do not miss the crawfish monica at the fest! worth the wait in line. sooo good.
bottomline is there are at least 4 things great about nola food music the party and the culture/city
take the $1 street car through the garden district and back. nice way to see that part of town!

    Everywhere

In all seriousness there's a ton of good places

Last time I went to Tujagues and Court of Two Sisters. Both good stuff.

Cafe du Monde for the Beignets of course

Eat at some of the food trucks at the festival for sure. The soft shell crab po boys are amazing. Breakfast at Café du Monde for beignets. I ate at a lot of places, but it was four years ago. You'll have to visit Pat O'Briens and a few other places as well. The food alone was worth the trip from Newfoundland to New Orleans.

The food at the festival is insane

Pat O'Briens was the only Hurricane I could stand

Lafittes is the best place ever

oh yeah the hot white sugar donuts lol they're good...when the munchies hit. imo certainly not worth an hour in line so be careful and hit that spot when there is no crowd. theres a place in the french quarter and another one by jackson square. we hit the french quarter one early morning and got them right away.
too bad ed ved got sick and had to cancel on us(and im sure some others here as well were semi disappointed) we had already book plane and hotels...but even ed not showing up didnt ruin that trip at all
i love jimmy buffett but um no replacement for ed ved

Same one I attended, I went for Vedder and the wife for the Foo Fighters. Totally disappointed Eddie couldn't perform, but I still saw a lot of awesome music. We were up early every morning for beignets, and stayed right on Canal so we were close to all the action in the French Quarter. At our hotel Kurtwood Smith (Red from "That 70s Show") was there doing an event where he would call people "Dumbass" for money.

Favorite city in the world, by far. Can't make it for jazz fest but will be there for a week in June.

Honestly there are so many places to go, but my two favorite would be:

Court of Two Sisters: Best atmostphere, eat under the lit up vines in the courtyard at night. Bottle of wine and great food, cant go wrong.

Mr. Eds on Bienville Street: Best seafood, by far my favorite in the french quarter.

Tons of amazing brunch places as well with awesome cocktails.

  • Take a taxi to Drago's in Metairie! about 10 minutes from Downtown New Orleans. Great charbroiled oysters, and anything else seafood.
  • Any good vegan restaurants?
  • PARKWAY BAKERY! Best poboys on the planet. I recommend the surf and turf.. You won't be disappointed.

OMG...too many ....the best part about JF is eating there..you get everything you want at the food booths at Fest and it's all fantastic. Crawfish bread to start, Crawfish Monica, Etouffe.....you name it. Who needs to eat after a day at the Fairgrounds

We went to K Paul's which was very good.

As someone else said, literally just pop in to any place and they have amazing food. We actually walked down some alley and found a little cafe (i can't even remember what the name was) but the po boys were great and the portions were huge.

Try a muffuletta, they are a popular and interesting sandwich.
