Position on guns coming home to roost

This is HUUUUGE so deserving of own thread.

So we've got a petition to allow guns at the republican convention.

Oh how wonderful. All those big corporate fat cats and people in power having to face those that they use to stay in power.

Hope they win. Hope they bring AKs thrown over their shoulders.

Please sign petition.

Sure security will be fun.

Hell let's also do this at Trump rallies What could go wrong having a well protected audience?

    Advice to the Republicans...

If guns are allowed on the floor of the convention, best not to sit next to Dick Cheney.

Guns will be allowed and I m pretty sure nothing will happen. When s the last time a gun show got shot up? (Which would be the equal)

Wouldn't be the equal. Far from it. Gun show all gun toting republicans and wasn't saying there would be problems. But as republicans love them some guns should have open carry assault. Oh there would be some uncomfortable republicans at event. Should change venue if current won't allow. Stand up for freedom.

  • i hope they get to take them. and then i hope there is a brokered convention. the guys with the biggest guns are going to force delegates to their side. if that happens, it will prove the point i have always made that the guy with the gun is much more persuasive than the guy without.

If they have carry permits then let them carry.

I'm pretty sure there isn't an open carry law on rifles. You can't carry one out in public.

I hope it passes because it will turn the convention into a righty love-in.

Oh but let's make an exception. Many republicans are proponents of open rifles so have at it. And as AK's are just rifles not "Assault guns" the more the better. And let's see who has the biggest clips. Most projectiles gets rail. Largest caliber 2nd row. I mean it's now okay to have guns on college campuses so good everywhere.

a quick google search yields millions of hits....generally accidental shootings but that is part of the anti-gun movements point as well.

This is not funny. The Bundy Ranch morons want guns at the convention because they want to force the GOP to honor Trump as the nominee, not broker a candidate like Kasich. It's like an article from the onion:

Guns makes one safer. This is what the GOP's been chanting every time we have a massacre.

So am I relishing and poking fun, yes but realize it's deadly serious. These fkers appease gun lobbiests and add to the proliferation.

This is a bigger deal than what it appears. I hope this story gets traction it deserves.

Maybe instead of a convention they should have duels. Last man standing wins.

Ohio is an unlicensed open carry state, licensed ccw state. Unless you are black with a pellet, bb , or toy gun in a store or a park.

Interestingly, I didn't see any preemption for carrying concealed or openly in venues seating over a certain number of people in Ohio's gun laws.

I'm curious to see how this turns out.

    Well, that's that.

FWIW, I think open carry creates more problems than it solves. At least CCW permit holders have passed background checks, taken a test and had at least some instruction and range time. Also, people don't get too twitchy about the guns they don't see.

Your average dip-shit civilians wandering around town toting guns never seemed like a good idea.
